Really wanted to go for my birthday because everything about it sounded good, had very good remarks about this place from friends but sadly it has been closed.

自然のなかを馬に乗ってハイクします。ガイドが丁寧にインストラクトしてくれるので初心者でも安全に楽しめました。馬にの背から見る景色は格別でした。

This trek is no longer operating !
The majority of reviews and the photographs used to promote this activity while it was based at Partridge Lane were substantially taken and reviews given when the treks operated at a different location.
Comments would have been correct relative to the location adjoining the Kaituna River not the last Kiwifruit orchard location. This site should be removed from Tripadvisor given the business nolonger operates and the bulk of the content is/was misleading

My son and I went for a trek with Briar's team yesterday. The group consisted of a mix of novice riders and a couple of keener more experienced riders and the lovely ladies who guided the trek catered to everyone beautifully with the keener riders able to break off and have a bit of a trot and canter while the others carried on along the stunningly beautiful track. The horses are clearly loved and looked after beautifully and happy.
I would recommend trekking with Briar's team to everyone! I have ridden in many treks over my life and this was without compare the best - I cannot rave highly enough about the whole experience.
Thank you so much to Claire and Hillary and to Briar for providing such a fantastic experience.

Wow - such a great time, the guides are informative but let you enjoy your time in peace, trekking along a beautiful river, around kiwi fruit vines and through some forest you get to see a lot of natural beauty. And again I agree the horses you are given do match you well and all have their own personalities which makes it more enjoyable again. We thoroughly enjoyed our trek and hopefully will be back for more soon.

We did this back in April, had quite a warm steamy day. Briar made us feel most welcome. She had only just moved to this new location so our ride was a bit exploratory but that kind of made it fun. The horses were great and matched myself and my partner quite well.

I was lucky enough to be trekking alone with only the guides for company, and found all of the staff were great to be around and easy to talk with.
My request to ride bitless was happily accommodated (I believe they have recently transited the majority of their horses over to it), and all the horses appear to be well cared for and were exceptionally friendly towards one another and people.
We got to do a few bits of trotting and cantering here and there, though the majority of the ride was carried out at a walk.
My only real critique of the ride would be that the scenery is quite dull after a while (3 hour trek, lots of loops around the kiwi vines).

If you are looking for a horseriding experience in between Tauranga and Whakatane, this is the tour you should book with. It is located near Te Puke, a place where you can visit Comvita and Kiwi360. Look into my reviews for a wonderful B&B place!
Booking with Briars was a breeze and they made sure they have the right horse to fit you. I visited New Zealand back in April and I believe at that time, Briars was in the midst of moving its location so we went to a different location. God knows how we reached there but we were informed beforehand and managed to find that little playground with the help of the trusty GPS.
Briar was already there when we reached and she picked us and another couple to the horses' location. Horseriding was actually the number one activity I wanted to do in New Zealand! We quickly got our gear on and Briar and her two girls made sure we were comfortable after sitting on the horses.
I got Monty, the black lovely beauty, who was rather active and thankfully still not too fast. I remember the horses have a certain order that they like to follow, like how Monty has to be first in the group (if my memory didn't fail me). Each horse has its own unique personality like one of the horses dislikes walking into puddles of water while another loves frolicking in sprayed water(?) The horses trek in a line with Briar usually at the front and I was almost always behind her. I even had a grand view of her horse pooping, it was hilarious!!
We went for the hour trekking and I felt a little bad during the ride as Mont was panting a little lol! We passed through beautiful streams in the forest and even a paintball area which looked really cool.
Note there are some uneven grounds during the ride so be prepared to position your body forward or backward so you don't put too much weight on the horse!

My girlfriend surprised me with a wonderful horse trek. The scenery was spectacular, the guide kind and informative and the horses sweet and beautiful. Great experience for my first horse ride. Thanks!
