Easy to find & plenty of parking.
Excellent information & advice given to us by a lovely NT lady.
The highlight most definitely was the walk down to the Crowns Engine Houses.
Great coffee & cakes once back at the top.
Definitely recommend a visit!

Absolutely stunning - went really for the Poldark scenery which didn’t disappoint but were amazed by the views and walks.
£1 to park the car for an hour which were were relieved about having just paid £7.50 at lands end! Car park not too busy on our visit in early/ mid June.

This whole area is just amazing in terms of the dramatic coastline and industrial archaeology and if you're lucky you just might spot some choughs flying around. There is a small National Trust nformation and refreshments centre . Today there was a lovely lady working there named Anne who we had a chat with and who made our collie and labrador very welcome.

The picture above gives you a good idea of what to expect. However, it does not really do it justice because you can't feel the atmosphere, the wonderment and the sheer courage of the tin miners working underground and more relevant under the sea all those years ago. Pick a good weather day ( sunny or windy not rainy ) so the Atlantic Ocean, the West Penwith cliff- face and the beautiful wild vegetation all marry into one to show Botallack at its supremely best. This is National trust property so there is a good car park ( the road in is bumpy ) a museum and old workings to explore. Many paths lead down to the engine rooms but they are steep and narrow. Good shoes are needed. Thoroughly recommend . Enjoy.

Well off the beaten track for cars but there is a car park. Uneven terrain but what great views of an iconic landscape. Walks along the cliffs are the best way to see everything.

I think these engine houses may just be the greatest views in Cornwall and that’s saying something! Easy to find and to park, then a great walk around some old mining buildings and down to the engine houses. The backdrop is simply stunning. I saw a photo and had to visit, so glad I did. It’s such an experience in person. Don’t miss this!

I cannot explain the atmosphere and aura the place has. Got goosebumps and sat down having a picnic just to absord it all in. The walk is a bit hard at times for young children - our daughter is 5 and was exhausted by the time we walked back to the car park but asked when we were regoing :)

Visited as the area just looked so dramatic & I wasn’t disappointed. Just did the 1 mile circuit that the NT recommend on their website & also a there & back trek to the Engine House ruins close to the cliffs. Agree with the griping that information boards are non existent around the site, though some information is available at the Count House.

We knew very little about Cornish tin mining before our holiday but this short walk really brought the area’s mining history to life- passing so many derelict mining buildings and learning about what happened down the mine’s not so long ago.

Very craggy, atmospheric site especially on a very windy day. Unspoiled.
The facilities were closed which we knew but we could not see much detailed information on the website. We arrived and literally did not know what we were looking at, nor where to go to see views or ruins. We did not dare venturing down as very blowy and the path looked dangerous.
It would have been good to have a printable map on the NT site with more detailed history for when the facilities are closed. It is not always possible to visit when open. Some discreet signage or boards would be helpful on the site itself.
Also, there may be an easier path to take than the one we saw, it would be nice to know.
I can´t help thinking that the NT could do better with this one. The place looks completely abandoned, there is no mention of possible danger and the road is absolutely riddled with nasty potholes. To be honest, it did not look like it is in the care of anyone and we did not fell like anyone had given much thought to visitors invited there. We missed out. What a shame!
