Ehukai Beach is the home of the world famous Banzai Pipeline…probably the most famous surf spot on the North Shore. It’s a little tricky finding the beach if you’re not familiar with the area. There’s a parking lot or parking along Kamehameha highway. Luckily it was early enough that we found a spot close to the beach path. Bring what you need…and leave nothing behind. The highlight of the beach was watching the surfers do their tricks.

Looking for surfers on the north side? They were in abundance in this gorgeous beach. Not a lot of shade but the sand is as smooth as silk.

We scouted out a North Shore beach before luau at Waimea Valley and kind of randomly chose this one. So happy we did! It was by far our favorite beach of our Oahu adventure after visiting about 7 others including Lanikai and Kailua. It just felt so … vast and overwhelming! The surf was strong and only my kids ventured in to swim. There was a lifeguard on duty though. I know that summer is not the time for the big waves or the surfers but you only needed to use your imagination to envision what it’s like when the surfing competitions are in full force in the winter months. It was funny to see how many people walked up , took a gander at the surf and then left after taking the requisite pictures or videos. The beach was actually pretty empty for those of us who chose to stay a while. We actually considered making the trek back up to the beach from Honolulu on another day but then decided against it—that was how much we liked it. If you have the chance, make plans to visit!

Wow fantastic beach. Lifeguard on duty. Nice view on the surfers riding the waves. Blue turquoise waters. You can walk and walk along the seashore.

We stopped here for an iconic "North Shore" beach experience and were not disappointed. The sand is soft, the beach is broad and wide, crowds were low and the waves were big! My kids loved jumping in and out of them, although children swimming here should definitely be supervised as the surf is quite strong. We loved watching the nearby surfers ride the waves. Our favorite part was just looking at the pristine blue water - it was like a jewel. Super clean and we didn't have an issue parking, although the lot was pretty full. I will remember the smiles on our faces here especially that of my kids for a long time. Excellent day at the beach!

Bonzai Pipeline! We drove past the beach the first time. Be sure to look up Ehukai Beach in your GPS, it's easy to miss. Others are accurate it's across from the elementary school. We got there by 10am on a Monday and it was packed and we had to walk quite a distance. We entered the beach area and there were a ton of families under sun tents camped out on the beach along with several photographers. We learned there was a body boarding competition going on. We sat towards the top of the beach (it is very steep to go down to the main sand). And watched the body boarders. The waves were huge and I'm telling you those guys and gals sure have big kahunas to be out there doing that. It was fascinating. We just sat and watched for a good hour or more and then left. There is no way anyone would catch me swimming out there nor snorkeling - but my hunch is that it was the time of year for rough north shore waters (late Feb 2022). It was fascinating to watch!!! And dreamy to just watch the waves rolls in.

It’s a nice enough beach, but there was practically no surf the day we visited, which we were told was very unusual during the winter. It was fairly hard to get down to the beach because there is a steep drop-off to the sand itself.
The beach itself was very hard to find. There is only one tiny sign that is parallel to the highway, so you can only see it if you turn your head while you are going by, or after you turn in! We had to ask a local after we drove half a mile past it. “It’s across the street from Sunset Elementary School.”
There was almost no parking the Friday we were there: we got one muddy space only by luck when someone left.
The beach itself was very hard to find. There is only one tiny sign that is parallel to the highway, so you can only see it if you turn your head while you are going by, or after you turn in! Since "tripadvisor.com" states that Ehukai Beach Park is in Pupukea,Oahu,HI, then to find Ehukai Beach Park, most Tourists would ask a local the question: "Where is Pupukea" with the hope of narrowing down the location.
BUT, do not ask a local: "Where is Pupukea?" Why? A local would probably send you up to the residential village area of Pupukea, which is NOT close to Ehukai Beach Park. Instead, a visitor should ask either: "Where is Sunset Beach Elementary School?" or "Where is Banzai Pipeline?". On the makai or ocean side of Kam Hwy, you will find Ehukai Beach Park. During the surf season (winter) do not swim, unless you ask the lifeguard,as to where it is safe to swim.

We were exploring the north coast and decided to stop and check out this picturesque beach. Parking was available but limited. There were bathrooms and showers here. The beach is backed by thick tropical trees and the sand is a golden powder. The surf here is strong; it's not a swimming beach. Surfers were loving the waves. Stop by and admire this beach.

パイプラインは1月〜3月がお勧めとのことで、3月中旬に行きましたが、ちょうどうねりが大きい時期と重なりました。6〜10フィートの波が綺麗に割れていて、セットはほぼチューブ。日本では見たことないようなスピッツも見ることができます。ボトムが平べったいサンゴになっているので、ワイプアウトすると状況によってはとても危険そうです。ピークには常時20人以上が波待ちしており、ビジターの入る隙間は無さそうでしたが、見るだけでも充分、見応えがあります！
