Had occasion to listen to a band concert here one afternoon. was reminded why these old churches are designed and built the way they are: too maximize the sound quality. That is definitely the case here. And, it seems that this church is more than simply a place of worship, but also a community centre, available for all sorts of uses.

This is very much a community based church slap bang in the middle of the High Street and was one of their arts events.
Always good to see music at a local live venue. Great music, free parking after 7.30pm outside the venue. Very welcoming staff. Pay bar and toilets available.
Other known artists scheduled include Rick Wakeman, Fairpot Convention, The Blues Band, Ralph McTell and Cregan & Co.
Well worth supporting. Competitive ticket price.

Whilst waiting for a restaurant reservation I had the chance to sit in the church grounds and just think. Whilst there is a lot of traffic around, the grounds were peaceful and a nice spot to sit rather than rush through to either car park or high street.

The particular attraction for us in the music. There are concerts at lunchtime on Friday and Saturday and a wide range of Saturday evening performances for all types of music genre from Chas and Dave to Beethoven.

This church has to be the epitamy of beauty. From the coloured glass to the structure such a beautiful place to worship and find solace. lf you visit Beckenham then dont miss seeing this beautiful church.

This is a gorgeous church that holds great events. Their Christmas carol concert is fantastic due to the youth orchestra from BYMT

The church is very pretty with a lovely gate as you enter. The graveyard is very old with some lovely flowers. It looks very natural. Its a nice area to walk around.

We are visiting family in Bromley and came to the St. George's parish church for the Carol concert on December 17. There were good points and not so good points. First the good. The music and choir were absolutely beautiful, the organ playing was spectacular, and the building itself is beautiful with great acoustics. The mince pies and mulled wine after the service were also extremely welcome.
Now the bad part, this was a candle light Carol concert with a living Nativity, however the candles had obviously been use multiple times before and had just a teeny tiny amount of candlestick left. I don't think candles are that expensive, and I really think the church should get new ones each year for the special Carol service. The hot wax started dripping on our hands almost immediately. Also the nativity was extremely dark and I think it needs some kind of ambient lighting to show the people in the congregation at least a little bit of the characters who are beautifully dressed on costumes on the stage.
Overall still very well worthwhile attending and thankfully biblically accurate unlike the Carol service I attended at Southwark Cathedral two years ago which was not.

This parish church dominates Beckenham High Street with its square tower. I have been coming here for many years and enjoy meeting friends. There is a welcome for people of all ages. We have one of the finest choirs in England.

Our main issue is that we are often not around for many of the concerts. Those we have been able to attend have been of high quality.
