We were looking to book a tour to the Blue Mountains at the last minute in probably the busiest week of the year. Although we called on New Years Eve and Country Trails was fully booked that week, Glen very kindly suggested other companies who might be worth trying. Luckily we did manage to find one available. His was the only tour company who took this extra time to help and we really appreciated this, thank you Glen. We will definitely look you up (in good time!) when we come back again.

So many reasons why we’re pleased we chose Glenn at Country Trails for our private tour of the Blue Mountains and Featherstone Wildlife Park. First, let me say that Glenn is extremely professional. When I initially emailed him to inquire about a day tour for our upcoming vacation his response was immediate (allowing for our time difference, of course) and he was courteous and willingly to let us decide how we wanted to customize our tour. He stayed in touch right up until we departed for Au and when the appointed day arrived he met us promptly at our hotel. His van is clean and comfortable and he is an excellent, safe driver. No worries, you will be in good hands! He took us first to Featherdale Wildlife Park and suggested we leave a bit earlier to avoid the crowds. His knowledge of the indigenous animals and birds is vast and interesting. We arrived and basically had the park to ourselves. We spent a good 1 1/2 hours there and by the time we left the parking lot was crowded, so his careful planning made the experience much more enjoyable. We asked a lot of questions about all things Australian and he kept us informed and entertained. The Blue Mountains were beautiful and Glenn took some really nice photos of us that made for memorable keepsakes of our tour. We visited the quaint village of Leura where we walked to a courtyard cafe for a delicious lunch. Afterwards, we made a few more stops to lookout points which included the stunning Three Sisters rock formation. We highly recommend that if you are visiting the Sydney area, plan an extra day or two to spend with Glenn. It’s a great opportunity to leave from Sydney and see a bit of the countryside. I will add that we found his private tour pricing to be very reasonable. Great day with a great guy! Many thanks Glenn for this special tour and we wish you all the best!

Planned our Sydney Blue Mountains private tour a couple of months in advance and Glenn was always quick and polite to reply from start to finish (despite quite a few questions), helping to sort out the details and itinerary. Safe, smooth driver, and very helpful with suggestions. Many thanks from all six of us for a highly enjoyable and memorable day. Suggest you book him quick before someone else does !

Glen suggested an early start to the day which proved to be very good since we were the first ones to arrive at the Featherdale Wildlife Park where we spent 90 minutes. He was an excellent driver and gave very good commentary on our trip to the Blue Mountains, stopping at spectacular lookouts where often we were the only ones there. Glen also stopped at a "secret place" in Leura for us to have lunch, again avoiding the crowds.
If you want a private tour of the Blue Mountains we would highly recommend using Glen's tour service.

We had a great day with Glenn. I loved having the flexibility to modify our plans as the day went by. Glenn is very knowledgeable and patiently answered all of my questions (and as a first time visitor to Australia there were a lot of them).

As active walkers, we planned an appropriate day. It started at the Featherdale Wildlife Park where we spent an hour in close proximity to a wide selection of indigenous wildlife. Not on my original plan but not to be missed if you have an interest in birds and animals.
We then spent the morning at a cloudy Wentworth Falls. After a hillside tramp we plunged down into the canyon for a great view from below. Note steep steps with a lung-busting climb back up.
After lunch in Leura, we visited the area around the Three Sisters, again with hillside walks taking in great views.
The finale was a trip down the Paramatta River to Circular Quay that even a spot of rain couldn’t spoil.
To summarise, the day was superbly planned by Glenn who took into account our requests and delivered an in-depth knowledge of the wildlife, geology, geography and history of the area whilst taking us to the best viewpoints.
What a great day - thanks.

4 or us had an outstanding private tour with Glenn in his Mercedes van on Feb 2. A step ahead of the crowds/buses to Featherdale Park for wonderful experience there. We visited multiple viewpoints where crowds were small to non-existent. Excellent lunch at a cafe with locals. Knowledgeable about the Blue Mt history, flora, and fauna with engaging personality. Even made a stop at a local wine shop where he helped make excellent selections for upcoming cruise. Cost included return ferry to Circular Quay. He was overtime but still insisted on waiting until we departed. Great guide! Great day!

Glen was a very professional guide for our day out to Hunter Valley. He provided pick up and drop off from our Bondi Beach location. We enjoyed all Glens suggested wineries and he was flexible once we arrived to our preferences.

Me and my family went on a blue mountain day trip with country trails . It turned out to be an awesome day. Glen was there at the right time to pick us up from the hotel we were staying. He Is a very down to earth person with very good knowledge of not only the blue mountains but the entire Australia itself . His car was very comfortable for 4 of us . We went to feather dale wildlife park first and then to blue mountains. Glen showed us different scenic spots and we did appreciate the enormity and absolute breathtaking beauty of the blue mountains. On top of that we got a discounted group tickets for Katoomba scenic world and featherdale park as well. Glen has good knowledge about the local restaurants and he took us to a vegetarian friendly restaurant which was nice and served good food. Thank you very much glen for all the help and making our trip very memorable. I highly recommend this guy. Cheers

As far as I am aware, it's just a tourist visa which you apply for online before coming to Australia. See the Department of Immigration and Border Protection website for more info and visa application.

Hi Sandy,
Typical sightseeing points for tourists are harbourfront (darling harbour), beach, opera house and the bridge. If you are a gourmet you may find the Fish Market interesting. CBD and Chinatown are the same as those in any US big city. We went to Blue Mountains and scenic world with Glenn but I think your timeframe is really too tight for this. Maybe you can consult him and then work out a customised itinerary. Bon voyage!
