The result disappointing- the locals got beaten in the last minute. As a sports fan I love visiting arenas as I travel. This one is very family friendly and exudes a good atmosphere. Entrance $66 for a seat beyond the try line (mmm) had to reply on the TVs for a lot of the action. This is about to be replaced by a new stadium in 2020 in the town centre and I suggest two things to improve - parking (coming from interstate) it was difficult to park near the ground and very slow to move traffic after the match - entering the ground was also slow - not enough gates or staff to enter in a reasonable time.

We travelled from SA to see the Cowboys at home and it was well worth it. It’s not the Adelaide Oval but it’s a great place to watch a game. Seats are good, everyone is close to the action and there was a great atmosphere. Parking is a problem and it’s way out of town but all that won’t be a problem when the new stadium is finished. Hope to come back one day to check it out! Thanks Townsville! Go the Cowboys!

It's a footy ground. Glad I finally got to see it and go to a game, but it's a dog park compared to some of the more well known stadiums for professional sport. It has a great family atmosphere, when entering reminds me of a small carnival, friendly feel. Amenities are ok, once again reminds me of the local show. Townsville has made do with this place and glad they finally get a more modern stadium next season. The seating we had was along top dollar but had limited viewing at the opposite end of the field. Better to turn your head to the small screen to see what was going on.

we go to Smiles stadium for all the home games of the Cowboys. The seats are good and we can see the whole game. Parking is good. the atmosphere is good. We do find the food is a little bit expensive and the drinks are quite expensive.

We went to the Cowboys Vs. Titans game and the crowd was around 10,000 yet the atmosphere was fantastic. Catching a bus to the game from the Cowboys Leagues Club was easy. Calamari and chips was $11 but it was a decent size serve and delicious.

I had never been to a rugby game so I was excited when I got a ticket with grass seating. Bring a blanket and sit on the hill at either side of the goal posts to watch the game. You still have a good eye on the game, and you can sprawl out if you like.

Always a great night out, parking next at Brothers as well as parking at stadium and then free buses from Kirwan makes it easy to get there and also to leave at the end of the night, Crowd are usually a friendly bunch and there are plenty of bars around. Food can be hit and miss but those local outlets are usually reliably good. Recommend going to a Cowboys game as the atmosphere will get you back, Will be a tragic to see this place go when the new stadium opens which will be hard to get to, harder to park and much dearer all round, The location of 1300 is much more central for the majority of the population

This is a tied out of town stadium.. It has no roof the facilities are old the food is terrible and you leave and not one taxi is around to take anyone.. This needs a wrecking ball and turn it into a greyhound track.

Was at a school reunion in Townsville after 46 years away and fortunately this was the weekend when JT played his last home game for the Cowboys. Had to get a team supporter bus to the ground from the Ville Hotel where I was staying. The ground is a long way out of the town and poorly serviced for transport. You really need to have your own car. The ground itself was ok but with limited seating and it took a long time to get a beer and return to the game action. The best thing about the place was the staff who were unfailingly kind and totally professional and made the visit special for me. Be good to have their new stadium..

HELP!
So heading to Cowboys vs Tigers next Friday night and have been told there is no parking passes left to purchase! We will have 3 small kids with and are staying out of town (southern side) so the park and ride/public transport options aren’t really much help. Is there anywhere else that offers parking nearby the stadium?
I have just finished cancer treatment so the though of carrying a toddler for miles at 10pm at night terrifies me but if that’s my only option then I guess it will just have to do =(

So sorry I didn't see this message until now. Hope you enjoyed your night at the footy. Sadly Townsville now has a new stadium in the city and there is NO parking at all close by so will have to be there & back via buses etc as cabs are not keen to get caught in that area for fear of getting stuck. 1300 stadium had plenty of parking at Brothers Leagues club which was good for many. Trust all has continued to go well with your cancer treatment. Cheers
