Great indie cinema in a great location (Carlton). Some of the cinemas have an odd shape but usually ok. Loads of excellent cafes surrounding it for before or after movie.
But watch out for the toilets - they've re labelled all the toilets as 'unisex' - I inadvertently walked into what must have been the old male toilets to three men at the urinals. Walked straight out again.
Might have been better if they'd kept the old separate toilets and simply assigned one as unisex on each floor.

Hi! Cinema Nova still have 'Male' and 'Female' toilets near C1 and toward the rear of the building near C10 if you feel uncomfortable using the downstairs gender neutral bathrooms. Still plenty of options for you on your next visit :)

The Nova is a multiplex cinema, it always has a great selection of movies. You can get a drink as you watch. Many films are arthouse style. Monday is discount day, you can also get reduced parking fees. The Nova is located in the top end of Lygon Street, Melbourne's 'Little Italy.'

One of the things I miss not living in Melbourne is the Nova but still manage to catch a flick at the Nova whenever I can. Like to go on Monday's being the discount day. Caught The Dry there recently, excellent covid protocols. Comfy seats it is a good place to see a movie and you get to see films that may not get a run else where. Also it is nice to enjoy a wine in a glass whilst watching the film. Staff are always friendly.

Cinema Nova is Melbourne's best Art House cinema. They have a great range of titles to see. Some are foreign language films and some are independent English language titles. They have discounts on Monday; you can get discounted parking. Its location in Carlton is convenient.

Cinema Nova is a multiplex cinema complex. While it tends towards art-house films, the Nova also shows popular mainstream movies. The seats are comfortable and the size of the cinema where you view your movie depends on its popularity. The Nova is at the top end of Lygon Street, it's essy to get there by tram. By the way, Monday before 4:00 is a cut-price ticket. You can also get discount parking.

Visited yesterday with my Son to see a great Korean movie. Cinema complex is awesome with no less than 15 screens! This facilitates a great choice of interesting movies. Seats very comfortable and our cinema was plush, spacious and well fitted out. Carlton fortunate to have this place.

Monday’s are a Melbourne speciality with $7 tickets for movies. Nowhere else will you find the broad range of truly interesting and foreign movies.

Looking for something different to do instead of popcorn and choc tops, then try the high tea option at Cinema Nova. We booked ahead online and went to see “Official Secrets”. We were taken to a very petite cinema with about 12 seats. Very comfortable seating although they don’t recline.
The only choice we had to make was a drink and we picked a Pimms cocktail. Each person is given their choice of drink and a small box with 3 savoury and 3 sweet bites. Not exactly a high tea but a lovely 😊 way to have some treats at the movies 🎥 I really enjoyed this experience and would recommend it as something different to do perhaps on a hot or rainy day.
