This state park is easily accessed and is a great option to cool off on a hot summer’s day. You can go for a swim in the river and there areas where you can spread a picnic blanket and spend an afternoon there. This is also a good place to go for a hike through the forest and along the riverbank to catch a glimpse of Koalas on the treetops if you’re lucky!

A beautiful location for a spot of tree bathing and unplugging. Easy to get to from Melbourne and good for singles and families.

Hike around the bend for a chance to see a lot of kangaroos. The hike is easy and pleasant. You will come to some meadows where the kangaroos feed. See my pictures.

Get a canoe, kayak, doughnut (high strength) drop it at where the tunnel entrance is at, make sure you don't get sucked into the tunnel! then just let the current take you around to the other side where the tunnel ends.
It takes around 4-6hrs depends on the speed of the current if you are going with the current. Otherwise around 1-2hrs if paddling.

We used to come here very often since my fiance was working in this wonderful area! Beautiful riverside locations at Jumping Creek Reserve. Wood-fired BBQs, toilets, picnic tables, nature walks. Easily launch a canoe, if you have one. We even had a chance to meet couple of lamas out there!

Warrandyte State park is a lovely environment close to the city for a day trip, picnic and some great walks. The Yarra river winds its way through this park, making it incredibly scenic and relaxing. Paths are well defined and in good condition.

This is one reason why Melbourne is such a beautiful place.
The Yarra River runs through this area. Park your car in Warrandyte town and take a stroll down the built pathway.
The ambiance is absolutely delightful. If you need to get a coffee or a bite to eat - there are a few great cafes and restaurants to choose from. The Warrandtyte Bakery next to the river pathway entrance serves great coffee and meat pies.
There is also the absolutely divine shabby chic cafe - Roundabout cafe - at the roundabout near Bridge.
Its less than an hours drive from the city - and there is even a bus route from the city.
