The online booking process was very simple, we booked kayaks for 1 hr experience on the swan river , our group had a couple of teens and a 7 year old, the staff were v friendly and gave us good guidance and fitted us out with life jackets …the kayaking was fantastic , we saw black swans gliding gracefully in the river, cormorants and jellyfish , what a fantastic day out in the swan river …after coming back onshore our teens wanted to try SUP, again full marks to the staff they guided us nicely , and our boys were able to SUP quite far out into tte river & back…we then also did the catamaran sailing experience..wow …what a day , perth , the swan river at its fabulous best and thanks to funcat for making this experience possible , we had family visiting from overseas and this experience has created such wonderful memories for us with them together …

Fantastic afternoon. Friendly staff who got us straight in the water with minimal fuss.
Well maintained and easy to sail boats. Strongly advised trip to entertain visitors to Perth. Views are superb.

We hired a Funcat (easy online booking) and the staff were absolutely brilliant! The whole experience was fantastic, including when we got "stuck" & a guy raced out in his boat to assist us! I can't recommend these guys highly enough.

Most fun I’ve had in perth, definitely recommend 👍, very affordable as 4 people can fit on one and split costs, the instructor was great very knowledgeable and friendly

What a great morning out on the Swan River. Funcats are just a professional team. So nice to the have quick tips on how to use the SUP boards, and off we went. Definitely would return to try again. Highly recommend on your next morning out in South Perth.

Fantastic day on the water! Andrew was so helpful and friendly. My husband is keen to get started in sailing and Andrew gave us lots of great advice to start us on our journey :)

We had a fantastic experience with Fun Cats! We arrived a bit worried on a very windy day having booked stand up paddle boarding, luckily the staff suggested we do double kayaking instead. It was great fun and all of the staff were great, especially the woman running things!

We rode a catamaran on a lovely summer day and it was fantastic. We grew up riding these catamarans and now our kids love them too. The council of South Perth need to protect this business as it adds a lot of value to the Perth experience.

when do they close for winter?

Thanks for your question.
We continue 7 days a week until the end of the school holidays at the end of term one. This season that means Sunday the 28th April.
Our intention is to continue weekends into May for as long as the weather holds. Once the really strong winter cold fronts start arriving we completely pack everything up and leave the river.
In short we have no fixed date for our closure but it will likely be sometime in May.
We will update our website’s home page with this information as we approach our winter closure
