Casino was okay. Bar at the entrance was bad. Went with friends, was wearing prescrivions sunglasses due to an eye infection. entrance was not a problem at all because I explained the situation. But Bartender called me too drunk and refused service without talking to manager. his manager arrived and said it was ok but I left because that was the worst people made me feel because of an allergy. That guy behind the counter should be fired in my opinion. Tactless and rude.

Free to enter, security may card you depending on how young you look. Much more slots than table games for sure. Bingo also at back of casino.

Granted, it's been 4-5 years since I've stepped inside a casino and that would have been in Macau, but I can remember the heavy smell of cigarette smoke, so how refreshing was it when we went into SkyCity and there was no smoke smell and the casino was really nice and clean. I signed up for their premier card and was given $10 worth of play. I won on my first spin and walked away a small winner for my play. The people were so friendly and helpful that we are going back tomorrow night. Oh, the premier card also gives you 10% back on dining there as well as tickets for the sky tower so it's a pretty good deal since it doesn't cost anything to join.

Odds stacked against you way more than I’ve seen elsewhere.
Some blackjack tables have 0 and 00 plus they take your original bet. That makes the odds say more in favour of the casino than normal rules and just a 0. And on blackjack they draw on soft 17 and push on 22. In short, it’s a LOT harder to win than a few years back,

Amazing place! Clean, well set up. Laramie at check in helped a ton. Chris at the bar was quick and very friendly. I did not gamble there.

I stayed at the Skycity hotel in Auckland and at around 10 PM i went to the casino on the 1st floor wearing a baseball hat. Two security guards were at the entrance, one asked something and because of the background noise I didn’t quite understand what he asked me to do, politely he said something about my hat so I thought he needed to check the hat so I took it off he saw it and I put it back on, and right away the other guy very rudely said - you heard what he said, take off your hat!! I said to him, i didn’t quite understand what he said, then he started rising his voice saying - you understood, he said to remove your hat!! I just found it so rude and I immediately turned around and left the casino without playing anything.
I understand the security guard was doing his job, but there are ways to ask for things. BTW, behind me was a group of Indian people with turbans, do they get asked to remove it from their heads too? (I doubt it)

Poor service at the Flare bar, the manager there was quite rude making up hours for when to not serve certain drinks, in this case the one that I ordered, yet they served to one of the attendants a minute after i had ordered, which is completely ridiculous, I love the drink they make that I regularly order when coming there but tonight was just terrible service, the Asian manager, is quite rude and just made up a rule to not serve it after 4am and has the nerve to speak to the bartender in front of me like I wasn't there.

We enjoyed visiting here. Had absolute no engagement with any staff on the floor.
Shame they didn’t approach us to promote their rewards scheme.

This was my first-ever visit to any casino in my life, so I'm not really able to rate it with any degree of accuracy. We only really went in to look around and see what all the fuss was about, as we were actually celebrating a milestone birthday in the Orbit restaurant later than evening.
We spent some time in the Flair bar and the live band was very good. They played quite a selection of floor-fillers and a LOT of people were dancing.
It's an utter Mecca if you like people-watching, as all human life is represented here. One of my party commented that, had an alien spaceship landed on the roof that evening, they would certainly have had a good cross-section of the human race to take back as specimens!
Not sure I'd go again, as it's not really my 'thing' but it was an education, albeit a relatively expensive evening.
