My wife and I had an amazing ride. When we turned up there was a selection of horses ready to go. It was just the two of us in the group so great to be able to chat to the owner and no queueing etc...
The owner was great, we were introduced to our horses and then given the time to ride around the arena to get familiar with our horses.
Once we were ready the owners daughter took us out into the countryside, up a long hill to a observation point and (without spoiling it too much) the view was sensational.
Thoroughly recommend this place - they are passionate about horses (aparently they had 42 at the time).
Hopefully one day we will be back to the do the river ride.

Wonderful day spent with Jackie at Pinehollow Horse Treks. Got to muck in with the horses, ride, help out other younger kids, trek through a river, Jackie is an amazing patient teacher always smiling and encouraging. Fabulous day my teen was just grinning from ear to ear when I picked her up. You can have horse riding lessons or trek. She runs great holiday programmes for all ages and has a wide variety of ponies and horses to ride. A real jewel for Gisborne

Had a great trek plenty of time for Trott and Canter. Awesome value for money great views and friendly guides. van picked us up from the city and had added scenic view on the return trip.

Had a super 2 hour trek out with Jacqui's daughter. Rode through the river & up the hill track. Really enjoyed it as we had many caters & gallops on way up. On way back stopped on the river & had a good gallop on the river bed. Super views over Gisbourne. Thanks for a great day & of course to my horse Holly (same name as horse I ride at home). Hopefully when back over in New Zealand will come there again.

A lovely drive north of Gisborne through pasture and grapevines brings you to this great activity.
We were greeted by owner Jacquie and her son Noi who selected horses to match our riding ability. The horses are very well looked after and have wonderful temperaments. We were well matched with Frosty; Vincent and Holly ☺ one of our party had never riden before so Noi very kindly led the horse all the way through the trek ensuring rider felt safe and happy. The more experienced riders were able to have a canter then ambled to the river. A really great way yo spend an afternoon the the countryside. Very highly recommend this activity to all. They also have small ponies for the young ones to ride so ALL ages are covered. Great family outing idea ☺ thanks Jacquie and Noi
