Quite a lot of walking but certainly friendly to people with disabilities. Lots of seats. Most important it is worth the effort: a world class historical site in a beautiful place

I would contact them directly. I loved this place. I arrived at 3:30pm and took me about an hour to look through the museum. I was invited back the next morning to do the walking tour and it was fabulous and so informative. Given it was off season there was no dinner but the free walking tour (with a hilarious guide) finishes with a quality performance. You need to spend a whole morning or afternoon here. The entry cost is $50 NZD but worth it. Also, the entry fee is their only means of funding. The entry is inviting and the grounds are beautiful. The cafe was great too. I finished the walking tour in plenty of time to make the 1:30pm 'Hole in the Rock cruise' at Paihia. I was pleasantly surprised by this place and count it as one of the highlights on my two week trip.

The guided tour took about 45 minutes. I would say it would not not be suitable for young children. There are no facilities that would be of interest like play areas. The tour would not be of interest because of the deep historical facts being discussed. Very interesting for young and older persons but not children. I can imagine a bored child in this environment would became a distraction to others on the tour. Hope this helps.

We tried to visit 2 weeks ago and the entry fee was $50nz each. We felt that was too much and left.
