Thanks so much for, firstly, choosing to visit us - we know there are lots of options in town, but you hit the nail on the head, coming to Whakarewarewa, which as you know, is a home! Chief's jokes never get old, we love his sense of humour too!
It sounds like you go to experience most our highlights on your visit which is awesome - but most of all, we are glad we helped you with learning about your culture - what a privilege it is for us to be able to do that.

Yes, Chief is one of our exceptional guides (though they all are!) We will pass this feedback on for sure.
We agree, taking our guided tour with one of our guides is the best way to gain valuable insight into our history and way of life. Our guides, who all whakapapa back to Whakarewarewa Village, are related to the guides who guided at the Pink and White Terraces. They are knowledgeable, informative, fun and do love sharing stories of the past, so it is good to hear that you connected well with your guide.

一位居民带我们进行了游览，我们观看了一个关于毛利人生活的节目，内容翔实且真诚，里面还有毛利人的战舞（HACKA）。商店很不错，有正宗的毛利礼品出售。还可以自助散步。咖啡厅有毛利人的食物和传统食物卖。我们在这里待了大约4个小时。非常值得来玩。

这是我们为期三周的旅行的最后一站。我们在最后一上午的时候预定了去这里的旅程。真是太棒了！与开放参观的毛利人村庄相比这里真是与众不同。而且有向导的旅行真是太好了！意想不到的是，当天还有一个村庄里非常重要的人物的葬礼。所以几个地方暂未开放，当然就算是其他开放的景点我们也没有都去！唯一遗憾的是我们在那里的时间没有超过三个小时！另外，不要尝试玉米！有时间会再去的！

Our landscape truly is something else, the mud pools geysers and steaming vents all add to the Valley along with the birds and trees plus the Maori culture! It is really an experience you should not miss.

Hi, our tours are one hour. To add a hangi feast option, best to order the day before to avoid disappointment (the food takes four hours to cook, so if we sell out, we can't quickly prepare more!).

Kia ora Alison, thank you for your question. Our family pass is only applied to cultural experience ( NZD 100 for 2 adults and 3 children aged 5-15) and can book at a time reserved. Another tour like geothermal hangi experience, we don't have a family pass. Btw, if you have kids under 5, he or she is free entry.

Kia ora, thank you for your question. The wheelchair is available to use in our village. You can borrow it from our admission. I am not sure mobility scooters can be hired or not for holiday use in Nz.

There wasn’t any mobility scooters to hire I don’t think. And I would say that some of the experience would be inaccessible to you although the main roads and areas and the entertainment area would be ok in a wheelchair. Hope this helps.

Te Puia is government owned whereas Whakarewarewa is owned by the Maori people through a Charitable Trust. At Whakarewarewa people who live in the village work in the business, with all profits being reinvested. Their are guided tours on the hour and cultural performances at 11.15 am and 2.00pm, with the opportunity to walk the back tracks, relax in the Cafe or spend time in the various souuvenir shops.You stiil get to see the geysers whether you visit Whakarewarewa or Te Puia, while also seeing mudpools, bubbling springs and meeting the people.

Kia ora, sorry for the delayed response to his question - there was no alert and it got inadvertently missed.
You can get to Whakarewarewa by foot from Rotorua central - it's about a 20 minute walk, or otherwise a 5min car/cab ride. Alternatively, there is a public transport option in the form of us a bus and the stop is on Fenton St, and we are a short walk from there (though if you are coming from the city centre, this would require a bus change).
