My wife left a favourite jacket on the bus. As soon as she realised, we called na clachan and they checked if they could see it. They said it had not been left on the bus. Surprised and disappointed, we went back to all the wineries and none of them had it. We chalked it up to experience and assumed the worst.
The following day, na clachan found the jacket in the bus and sent us an email via trip advisor. I missed it since we were on the road in remote S island. I picked it up ten days later but by then we had returned to Australia. I called them up and offered to pay for the post to Australia. This they promised to do.
Since then, despite E mails there has been nothing from them. It’s disappointing but be warned not to leave anything on the bus.

Hello Iain & Sara Dowell, thank you for contacting us regarding the orange jacket that Sara left behind.
Yes as per below communication thread shown, we urgently responded to your email to suggest we meet so we can reuniting Sara with her lost jacket, but as you have said, due to the extensive messages you receive from TripAdvisor there was a considerable delay (3 weeks) before you responded to our communcation.
When you did get back to us we were more than willing to post your jacket and in good faith we sent your jacket before receiving deposited funds, due to our business being very busy and with being short staffed I myself organized postage, and my mistake - out of sight out of mind, I didn't think anything of it until now. After talking to my office staff, apparently you called sometime in April and were told that the parcel had been sent, again we didn't request payment for the postage as they were unaware of the circumstances.
It's unfortunate that our good faith was misplaced with this review when we tried to reunite Sara with the jacket that she left behind, one your of expected a raving 5* review, but we wish you all the best.

Hi sorry for the late reply.
I get so many emails from tripadvisor that I overlooked this one until I was cleaning out my mailbox after return to Melbourne.
Do you still have the jacket? It is a distinctive orange colour.
If you do, I wonder if you could post it to Australia. We will, of course cover the post and packing. Let us know an account number to credit.

Bill our tour guide was excellent with a very good knowledge of the wines and the area.
He was very nice and we enjoyed chatting with him.
Bit disappointed in the St Clair’s tasting and lunch. Tasting was very limited and rushed then lunch arrived and we hadn’t finished wine tasting but wanted a wine with our lunch and we had to ask for that. We never finished the tasting. So pretty average service there.
Food was ok but not as good as we expected.. nothing special just average.
The best winery was the Forrest, great tasting the young lady had a lot of knowledge and passion for the industry and the wines. Was very interesting.
Overall was a good experience, our guide Bill was excellent but St Clair’s was a let down.

Unfortunatley Saint Clair Resturant & Cellar Door didn't meet your expectations, this is definitely not the usual service enjoyed by our guests. Your comments will be passed onto the St Clair team for their benefit too.

Chris was a great guide to the area and took us to some of the top wineries nearby. The wine and the conversation couldn't be beat. We highly recommend this tour.

Had Bill as a our tour guide, group of 4 (me, my wife and 2 ladies from the US).
Visited 3 wineries, starting with Saint Clair (were we had lunch), followed by Hunter Wines (where we learned the role of its founder Ernie in putting Marlborough wines into the world stage) and then Framingham (where we tasted a 7-grape blend, a first !)
Tastings aside (terrifc by the way !), the other highlight of the tour was Bill, who made it all more interesting as he added facts, history and stories with his personal touch as we hopped from one winery to another.

Highly recommend doing a wine tour in the region as there are a lot of cellar doors to visit. Bill was a great host for the day with lots of local knowledge and a great guy we got to know over the day. We were the only 2 people for the morning with a group of 6 joining us from lunch onwards.
Relaxing day getting to try some of the regions best wines and great value for money, helped by having glorious weather. All the places we went to were all unique and no pressure to purchase wine after tastings. Lunch stop with tasting was also brilliant.
Highly recommend if you are in the region for a few nights. Make sure to have a big breakfast!

My wife and I were the only ones on the tour so got to go in the Mercedes which was awesome! Toni was such a great host, and great company throughout the tour! Had a tasty lunch at st Clair and beautiful wines, then another two wineries and ended up at the gin room where we sampled som delicious gins! Would highly recommend Toni and her team to anyone interested in a wine tour!

We had such a great day, Toni (our fantastic guide) arrived to pick us up in a Mercedes-Benz as it was just the two of us. Lunch & first wine tasting was at Alan Scott, the food was exceptional, then we visited 3 boutique vineyards, special mention has to go to Gibson Bridge, a privately owned and operated vineyard that produce beautiful wine.

After much too-ing and fro-ing, Chris came up with a wonderful tour for 22 people off the Grand Princess cruise ship, while we were in Picton for the day early in April. Without exception, every single person raved about our wine tour right up to disembarkation today.
The weather was lovely, the scenery outstanding and the wines.....well! Need i say more?
Picton was our first introduction to new Zealand, and it did not fail! We fell in love with the country on our first day there. And Chris helped this dream come true.
I bought some wine to bring home, and it arrived, safely wrapped in clothing.
Thank you Chris - you are without exception, the BEST!!
From 22 VERY happy people including myself.

We had a great tour with Chris, as part of a small group on the Majestic Princess on 3rd Feb 2023 (with Andy P who did an earlier review). Chris met us early at the meeting point, we stopped for a good view across to the ship on our way to Blenheim, and we visited Lawson’s Dry Hills, Rock Ferry, St. Clair (where we had a very nice lunch), the famous Cloudy Bay, and Nautilus Wines, with a final stop at Makana Chocolates. Chris kept us to schedule and is very knowledgeable about wines and wine-making - all in all, it was a great day out and reasonably priced compared to what the ship tour charged and covered, Would recommend Na Clachan Wine Tours if you are looking for a good tour in this area.

Four of us were picked up at our lodging in a very comfortable van. Met a group of splendid people and our tour guides Lori and Chris made us feel like a team immediately!
All wineries were close and our fist stop we was within 20 minutes of being picked up! The winery, food, staff, and atmosphere could not have been better.
Continued to three more wineries with a wonderful variety of tastes, interesting stories and a lot of laughter!
