My daughter and I loved this experience. Inga made us feel very welcome and I really appreciated the fact that we were not rushed at all. From collecting the horses from the field to grooming them, tacking up and getting ready for the ride, we took our time and really enjoyed being with the horses. The lagoon area was beautiful and we saw some lovely birds. We also enjoyed trying the Toelt gait of the Icelandic horses a few times which was fun. I would thoroughly recommend this experience.

M friend and I wanted a great horse experience and we got one. Icelandic horses are charming and cheeky. Although pony sized they are termed horses in their native iceland.. A small hardy horse they have a unique gait called a tolt. Very comfortable gait and we felt very safe..

Wow, whether you have little or lots of riding ability this is a must do. The tölt (superfast walk) is so much fun. Inga's horses are so sweet natured and strong for such little guys. The 2hr beach ride was so good I did it again the following week.

Exciting and pleasant activity together. Friendly horses and excellent instructors. You depend on a car to get out, even though it's not that far outside of central Christchurch.

Fabulous morning riding these beautiful horses!
Me and my daughter had a wonderful time on the 2.5 hour trek. Horses are gorgeous, well looked after and lots of fun to ride, especially at their special talte gait!
Well organised, friendly people and great scenery. The beach ride was especially cool.
Would definitely recommend!

I ride horses a lot in Iceland. A friend thought there was a centre in new Zealand. Spent a lovely 2.5 hours riding to the beach, along it and back through the forest. An unexpected highlight of my trip round New Zealand.

We went for the lagoon ride and it was very lovely, great scenery and relaxing. The horses are truely special, well behaved and the tolt was fun to experience. I loved how we got to brush and tack up the horses as not many places offer this. I would recommend this to all , a great way to relax and get your horse fix.

Absolutely wonderful! Inga is so lovely and her ponies are all well looked after and beautifully mannered.
My daughter and I really enjoyed our beach and forest ride. We have both loved Icelandics from afar and had never had the opportunity to meet any despite riding from a young age, so when we found the flyer in Christchurch, we were so excited.
The ride did not disappoint! This breed is very unique and the 2 we rode were amazing. I highly recommend this!
The trails are fantastic and to have a nice long tölt and canter on a beautiful beach and through a beautiful forest, was just awesome.

What a fantastic experience! I have been riding for over 20 years now and can't say I've ever done anything quite like this before. For a start, it's a lovely idea being able to bring in your horse, groom and tack them up before riding. Inge is really passionate about her icelandic horses and this really shines through with how well trained they are. We did the 2.5 hour ride and it was worth every penny, from the beautiful forest to the seemingly endless beach, the location is stunning. And to able to have a go at tölting was a whole new experience in itself. I highly recommend a visit.

We booked for the Lagoon ride for beginners. It was a real experience. Inga was warm and pleasant. She let us brushed and put the saddle on before we were geared up. This is my first time but it is definitely not my last. My daughter enjoyed the ride as well. She was thrilled and happy. The view were beautiful. It was so tranquil that I felt 1hour is too short. Would definitely come back the next time we're at CHC.
