Good place for families and dog walkers. There are BBQs and many Km of walking tracks as well as access to the Waimakariri River.

Visited with our young family and was slightly disappointed and unmoved by our experience.
I think that the space and the environment has great potential to be so much more than what it is.
Perhaps it is the dated playground. Maybe it just needs an injection of money for a new design.
The grounds were pleasantly maintained, and our little ones enjoyed the pathways and going over the bridge.
There are boats to hire to go on the lake with which was enjoyed by all.
Word out to any coffee vans – a great place to park up as there is no café on site to offer refreshments.
Wont be returning.

Great for bike rides throughout the year. Lots of shade and shelter with 2 play parks for the grandkids. Boat hire during the school holidays is fun. Don't bear right on the way in - this leads to the dog park and people walking with their loose dogs on the adjacent track. You can also bike in from the Clearwater Resort past the children's fishing lakes.

I regularly bring my dogs to the dog park. They love it. There is agility area, swimming in river and many fields to walk through. If your not with dogs there are many picnic spots, boat hire which is lots of fun, bush walks, small playground to name a few. All I say is well done CHCH council.

Groynes is a well known picnic area north of Christchurch which has great walkways, fishing and boating.

A nice spot for a picnic or bbq tea. Small playgrounds but reserve is well maintained. Lots of ponds and streams so a close on the little ones at all times is required, not fenced around the playgrounds. Good easy parking.

An extensive area for picnics, walking, boating, fishing, etc. Some of the main walks are well formed, but have side tracks of them and it's not always clear which is the main track. Shaded playgrounds and commercial boat hire (not motorised). Nice.

Great picnic spot, fabulous walking tracks and an excellent dog park and all that for free. There are pay for BBQs to use and lakes where you can hire canoes in summer. What a fabulous place.
