I guess every now and then you need a reminder as to why you choose 8live on the Gold Coast.
With a gentle breeze, a magnificent ocean view, passing boats , yaught, jet skis, lean salty fresh air, a relaxed boardwalk to stroll along and the company of my best friend and beautiful wife..that will do it.
Absolutely no disappointments here.

We went to tour the entire area of The Spit from Main Beach. We passed through Seaworld and arrived at Dog Beach, secluded and pet friendly, ideal to enjoy with pets. You can also surf, kayak and jet ski.
The accesses are wide and pleasant; We were able to park without problems in a large esplanade for that purpose.
The beach is located next to a path that runs along the sea shore lined with rocks where the waves break. Along it there are some trees and seats to contemplate the beautiful landscape.
We took a beautiful hike to reach the end and find a picturesque lighthouse.
The place is ideal for practicing water sports, walking and enjoying with children and our dog friends.
This is another beach that has completely free access, like all the ones I have seen on the Gold Coast.

Always a pleasant stroll to the end of the spit on a sunny day. Very well-constructed path including easy access for wheelchairs. The day we went recently there was the usual activity with lots of surfers on the adjacent beach and boats coming and going. Nice views down the coast. Afterwards we checked out the cafe at the start of the spit which had some great juices as well as the kind of menu you'd expect.

Visited on Tuesday 2nd November. It is always good to drive down/up to the Spit. There is always something different to see, this time I went for a drive along the edge of the Broadwater. A well-maintained area and somewhere different to the surf beach.

The Spit, Gold Coast, QLD
A great walk (or jog) from Sheraton Mirage all the way to The Spit Gold Coast along the coast. It’s about a 50min walk to The Spit (which has been recently upgraded with a new path along the breakwater with some seating leading to the Spit).

it was quite unsettled with no boat traffic as the waves burst over the breakwall! Nice bit of drama! YMMV

Could not believe such a gem existed in Gold Coast. We had been to Sea World a number of times but we did not go a bit further find this. Glad we found it. It is a natural, iconic landmark a pier like structure that leads to an old light house. The waves are so beautiful to watch. The cafe near had awesome coffee and food (fish taco, yum!).

I was told about this iconic place and the first time we went , sat on the rock's and took in the view of the beautiful Broadwater, sail boats, jet skis etc. Second time round, very different story! I was told by a local that it's not a quick stop off, this is a FULL destination. I saw it in a very different light, after an amazing breakfast at the Sea Kiosk, increadable that it places like this still exist, fish and chips done old style with a modern twist. I decided to go for a little walk to the left, a massive park , families fishing and as I was walking back, I saw snorkelers and divers playing in the ocean, there are steps straight into the ocean. Was about to leave then discovered the dog friendly off leash beach at the Jetty, happy families, happy dogs, patrolled beach, apparently the best beach to surf on the Gold coast! What else can I say, it's an incredible all day destination. I think there's a surf school as well. The unfortunate part of the day was listening to an a couple overly complaining about the sunshine, the fact that it took so long to get there...ummm it's a 10 min drive, complained about the puppies, the sand etc, I couldn't move my towel fast enough, very strange to complain about a piece of paradise, which is experienced for absolutely nothing, that's right it's FREE! I can't recommend it highly enough, not pretencious at all, it's soooo beautiful and so much fun

The spit is a beautiful place to visit, go for a walk, swimming, sun bathe, fish or soak up the scenery. We live locally and visit the spit often, today we found a nice little spot off the main road to walk through the sand and admire some beautiful sights. It’s worth the visit and is a good way to unwind and relax by the water or on the sand
