Most towns would consider having a communications tower in the middle of a shopping district a bit of an eyesore but Shepparton has embraced it and made it a 'thing to do'. I have to admit I was a bit perplexed about why it was an attraction and I had no intention of seeking it out. However, I went to the cinema on New Years Day and had to walk past it to find something for lunch.
It turns out that the tower has a viewing platform that is open from 08:00 to 20:00 each day... but clearly not on New Years Day. The platform is 20 metres high and the actual tower is 77 metres high. I can see how the viewing tower would be interesting to climb... still not sure about having a communications tower in the middle of a town. :)

Stinks! Tower was obviously used as a toilet facility for the locals. It stank of urine and seemed to be a central location for the local youth gangs.

Not an overly spectacular sight in the middle of the city but it is certainly hard to miss, look up and its there.

This is great exercise with the kids, and great views of the town when you get the the viewing platform.

Approximately 10-storey climb. Great views of Shepp. Updated opening hours 8am-8pm daily, when gates are then locked. Make sure you are up fir all the steps 👍👍

Situated in a small park in the centre of Shepparton Mall this Tower offers an intersting view of the city centre and surrounds - for those agile enough for the mild climb.

Good heavens, how dull does a place have to be for this to rate an attraction. Climb 175 steps to the top to observe nothing.

Shepparton is flat so if you go a steps that take you above the buildings all you really see is the roof's of the surrounding buildings. Not that exciting

The tower is just of the main street in Shepparton. It is a good walk up the steps. Once at the top, you can enjoy a wider view of the city. Meter parking is available close by.
