We met Jose in the pink shirt at the beach of Riu Resort and he recommended the Leona Waterfall and Hot Springs Mud bath. I can't tell you what an amazing time my friend and I had. Martin picked us up as scheduled and on the way to the excursion kindly made a stop so that we can get some supplies needed and souvenirs. Noel our La Leona tour guide was so great to ensure that our experience was safe as well as memorable. It was one of the best experiences I've had - the falls and hike to it was beautiful and amazing. The lunch provided was delicious and the second part to the Hot Springs was just as great with Martin leading us on that part. If you're considering a tour, do not hesitate or look further than Jose and his team. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Jose!

Gonna keep it short and sweet. TUI did not render services for Catamaran excursion. We did not get to snorkel once we were anchored because they ran out of equipment more than half of the guest did not snorkel. We were patient and diplomatic with Josue at the Guanacaste resort and he emailed us saying we would not get a refund or a partial refund. I will say the crew was very nice and the food was excellent but they didn't provide the service we paid for and we escalated this issue with out banking institution because the email they sent proved us correct.

Eric and Jose were very helpful at setting up our Sloth adventure. It was a great time! I hope to come back and book a fishing trip with them.

Jose the guy in pink, came through for us in the best way possible! Martin was our guide for the day and he was awesome! Very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable about the area and history. Best of all, it was just my wife and I for the entire tour, on our anniversary....couldn't have asked for a better day!
We did a combo package that included the hike and river excursion to La Leona which was fenominal and the perfect time to go. Nacho was our guide for that and he was great too! Then had lunch at a local place that served real authentic Costa Rican food, and chatted with Martin about life, family, and the culture of Costa Rica. After that we did the hot springs and mud bath. On our way back, Martin was kind enough to stop at a local market to allow us to buy some coffee and articles from Costa Rica. This wasn't part of our trip, he just did it out of shear kindness and because he could.
I will go to these guys for anything in the future when we return, just because they we so good to us!
Thank you Martin, Nacho, Erick and Jose, for making our day an experience of a lifetime!

Jose the guy in pink made our trip very special! Jose and Erik arranged a private tour for me and three family members. Manuel was our driver/tour guide, he did an awesome job of getting us to so many attractions in one day. He was very knowledgeable and shared so much information about Costa Rica. We did a river raft cruise, hanging bridges through the rainforest canopy, saw sloths and ended our day at a waterfall with a swim to cool off. We always felt safe and never rushed.
We met Jose on the beach at our hotel Riu Guanacaste. I would recommend his tour services to everyone. Much cheaper than excursions offered at the hotel and can be customized. I really enjoyed that we were our own little group touring together.

Booked an all day excursion with Jose the guy in pink. Highly, highly recommend this guy for all your sightseeing trips. His prices are very fair and his staff always goes the extra mile to ensure you have the best experience. Our guide Manuel picked us up at 8am. Drove us to a gorgeous waterfall that we could swim by. Made stops for us for ATMs and shopping. Took us to see sloths up close, feed us an amazing local cuisine meal, then took us to Coco beach for drinks. Was truly an amazing day.

We did the Nature & Wild trip with Jose. This included a river safari, Sloth adventure and the rain forest hanging bridges. Martin was our driver and tour guide extraordinaire! He was knowledgeable and made sure he provided us with what we needed. We were able to go at our own pace and he never made us feel hurried.
Each of the elements were great and we do not have any complaints. Because this tour is not operated by the hotel reps, we felt like we had the rain forest to ourselves. We felt as though it was just us the bats, birds and crocodiles on the river and we got so close to the sloths we were thrilled. It makes a huge difference there were just us and one other couple for the day. This trip was long - we left at 5am and returned at 5pm but it was so worth it! Thank you Jose snd Eric and thank you Martin! Anita & Tim

Martin was our driver and general guide and he was excellent! Friendly, knowledgeable, funny and a generally happy and lovely man!
We had a ride in a raft along the river piloted by Marcos who not only steered the dingy magnificently over the rapids, he was an excellent guide and wildlife spotter. He saw things we never would have spotted such as crocodile eyes above the surface of the river. He also surprised us with the nicest, freshest pineapple we have had, fully prepared on board!
Take flip flops or a change of footwear though!
He was so good my partner now had a crush on him! 😂
Despite the torrential rainforest rain, Martin lead us on the excellent hanging bridges walk and although there was no wildlife spotted, Martin’s knowledge on the local flora was brilliant! We now know the names of trees we never knew existed.
After the hanging bridges, we then had the highlight of the day, the “sloth tour”. This was incredible. Our guide a lady called katya (I think, could have been Katrina or karina) but she was lovely, funny and ridiculously knowledgeable. We saw snakes, spiders, venomous plants, humming birds, toucans and 4 sloths, one of which was at ground level!
We were then taken for a great lunch at a local restaurant for some traditional Costa Rican food of rice, beans, plantain, salad and (we chose) fish (options of pork, beef or chicken).
The day wasn’t finished! Martin took us to the waterfall for an optional swim in the pool! We took full advantage of this and the water is refreshing to say the least but was well worth it!
It does take place in a part of Costa Rica which has its own microclimate due to the geographical location so be prepared for rain and (like we had) possibly lots of it! You can buy ponchos though which help.
Also, there is a fair amount of walking, it’s not too challenging but there are slopes and steps up and down the hill on the hanging bridge part (and a relatively steep staircase in the waterfall part) which may be challenging to some with mobility issues.
Also, all arranged by josé on the beach! He wears pink, you can’t miss him, go and see him!
Overall, the best day we have had in Costa Rica!

We saw loads of Turtles Coatis and White faced monkeys . Snorkeling with a turtle and tropical fish. Fabulous day out. Highly recommended

I will be staying at Riu Palace Guanacaste in January and am hoping to seesome wildlife,(monkeys ,sloths) dolphins, waterfalls that type of thing. Any suggestions for people like me who don't want to do zip lining, white water rafting etc !! I will be going Jan22-31

By just walking north up the beach early at Riu early in the morning (6ish) to the area where the Monkey Bar is located you should be able to see white faced monkeys and howler monkeys. Once you are at the monkey bar just walk up the road a ways. You will also actually hear the howler monkeys early in the morning. So cool!
I highly recommend doing a tour of the rain forest (we enjoyed Sensoria) and or Arenal volcano for additional wildlife. Arenal is good place to see toucans. We were not fortunate enough to see sloths while we were there, but I would think the "cloud" forest would be a good place for that. You also have a good chance of seeing beautiful parakeets and parrots. Just don't be afraid to leave the resort. We normally like to veg out, but this was our first trip to C.R., and there was so much to see that we went on several tours and didn't regret it. You can book in the lobby or with the locals down at the beach. We did both and were not disappointed with any of our trips. You may also want to book at the beach a morning of touring the various area beaches on ATV's. We loved that. As far as dolphins, it's hit or miss, but if you have one of the locals take you out on their boat for a tour of the coast you may possibly see some then. We did this and also took in some snorkeling. Whatever you do, just be sure to immerse your self in the local nature and people. You won't regret it. Since you have plenty of time before your trip, I would research as much as possible ahead of time so that when you arrive you have a good idea of what you want to do. The time flies by! (If you're interested in a good travel guide book, email me, and I'll give you the name.)

We did a beach tour that included seeing all the different beaches around which was really neat bc they are all different, lunch, and local shopping.We also did a waterfall tour that included a hike through the jungle, horseback riding, a great lunch, volcano crater with mud spa and several different waterfalls. Both were great!

We are staying at Riu Guanacaste in June, we are hoping to see lots of wildlife, nature, volcanos, waterfalls that type of thing. The lists of trips and tours seem endless. Any suggestions for those of us that don't want to do zip lining, white water rafting etc !! We are fine with hiking ! Also what should we expect from the weather and any suggestions on what to pack would be great ! Thank you :-)
