At time of writing there is an exhibition of Nick Stathopoulos who is an Archibald winner. Nick’s artwork is amazing and more like looking at a photo then a painting. The centre is a little difficult to find but is well worth it to see this exhibition.

I really enjoyed visiting the Cultural Centre, the artworks were beautiful and the staff were very friendly and informative. The admission price was reasonable I only wished there was more to see here as it was not as big as I was expecting. The shop had a fantastic variety of unique items however I did feel some items were slightly overpriced. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something to do on a rainy day in Katoomba.

It is a wonderful place to visit and they have different & new exhibitions through out the year. A wonderful view and great cafe too.
We will be back in 2022. No teens.

Great thing to do at any time but especially on a rainy day. I went when the Arthur Boyd exhibition was on and it was very informative. Entry prices are very reasonable. I also enjoyed the separate exhibition of the blue mountains history. A third small exhibition was a silent auction of many small works which was a fund raiser to buy a new piece of art. All wonderful.

Your first challenge here is to find the way in. It's not an obvious entrance off the street but via a back lane. It's just $5 each admission for adults. It has a natural history section covering the discovery of the Blue Mountains by the settlers. I was a little disappointed not to find out more about the indigenous population. They're was a mere token mention of the various tribes of Aborigines that originally lived in the area. There was an interesting area where you could listen first hand to a variety of people's thoughts and contributions to the exhibition via headphones and some interesting quotes on the wall, but these were hard to read due to poor lighting.
They also had a visiting exhibition of portraits: photographic and painted/sketched. This was really interesting. They have a lookout point with views across the town and beyond, but I feel they missed a trick here, with no shaded seating area with an opportunity to sell us cold drinks or coffee.... They have a little cafe indoors though. Interesting and good value, but left a little disappointed.

Don’t judge a book by its cover.
The cultural center is stunning, amazing and educational.
It cost $5 for Adults and free for children under 16 years.
They had two exhibitions - World War II and the Blue Mountains. Both were great however the Blue Mountains was far better as it was interactive.
They have a beautiful local arts shop plus a divine coffee shop.
Highly recommend.

This modern building is superbly designs and has wonderful exhibits about the blue mountains, the geology nd history of the area and an excellent art gallery and cafe. It is light, generously arranged and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
