I booked 3 private classes with XL to take my surfing to the next level and it was one of the best experiences with surf lessons I have had. I have srufed for the last 3 years but the improvements I I have been able to make after 3 classes with Robbie and Josh are already visible. They helped me identify issues with my paddling, angling and stance and helped me correct it. From a technical perspective I was able to grasp how to move my body along with the board and how to read the ocean better to catch more waves. I will definitely be going back for more lessons in the future

Our Son Nikau (aged 8) just completed 3 surf sessions over three days of the July School Holidays. Having already done a bit of surfing - XL customised his sessions so to maximise his time and tuition in the water. Bodi was great with Nikau - giving just the right amount of information while keeping the sessions fun! Nikau improved and enjoyed it so much we are set to God willing join him up to the XL Academy.

Josh loved it. A newbie to surfing, he did the 3 day Surf Lessons and he came away being able to stand up on the board. Lots of excellent advice was given as well. Highly recommend!

Had a great private lesson on the water with Josh. We were all first timers and his teaching and assistance with us in the water was first rate. Had a great time and the kids really enjoyed catching a wave. Brilliant morning. Thanks Josh and XL.

DO NOT USE THIS SURF ACADEMY! Long story....my 9 year old daughter started showing an interest in learning to surf so we booked a pack of 3 surf lessons with this surf academy. The first lesson...we arrive at the designated meeting spot....to find a lady who was extremely vague and told us we "must not have received the message ". The lesson had been cancelled due to conditions not being ideal for a beginner, which is fine...if we had been notified. Instead we wasted our Saturday morning driving to the beach, when a simple, courteous text message could of saved us the inconvenience. The lady was not apologetic at all and didn't seem very professional. Decided to give them another opportunity.. so the following weekend we arrive yet again, to the same designated meeting spot with an extremely excited child...only to find no one around at all! Once again, we had been let down! No text message, no courtesy call. They had decided to surf in another location and yet they did not even let us know. If this companies communication and customer service skills are an indication of their surf tuition, then they must be pretty terrible at that too.final straw, we asked for a full refund after this debacle. This seemed to take a rather long time to process...on following this up, the company had refunded the wrong amount to the wrong person...and they couldn't even get my daughters name correct.What a joke!Absolutely useless and extremely disappointing. Would never use their services again and would advise others to steer well clear also.. Daughter is extremely upset that she missed out on lessons and we are looking elsewhere now.we are amazed that a company can be successful when it is as disorganised as this one is. At no point was we offered an apology for their incompetence. Finally got refund. Bad experience all round.

My 7 year old son joined Bodi for a private lesson and absolutely loved it. Bodi's ability to teach, supervise and keep everything fun for my boy was superb. We've booked another session already with him and highly recommend the experience.

Highly recommend. Great team that showed patience and had us having fun. Would do it again and highly recommend to anyone thinking of giving surfing a go to try it out with this team who will have the most uncoordinated hesitant individual up on their board.

I have booked the 3 day holiday programm and it was just awesome. I quicky learned the basic surfing skills and gained valuable surfing knowledge from my instructor Boardy and I never thought that I would learn basic surfing so quicky. I only can recommend the XL Surf team and it was more than worth my money and time (:
