Absolutely fantastic place for celtic supporters.to stand where legends stood was a phenomenal feeling it's a must visit for fellow fans before they renovate the place

Quick 2 day Trip to see where Celtic won the European Cup (Champions League) in 1967. We got an Uber out from the City Centre. Cost about €12 euro and the Stadium is about 14km out. Out of courtesy we reported in to Reception where we met Junior. He was so welcoming and simply stated to stay off the Grass and the Running Track but feel free to explore. All the Security Guards were really nice. We actually met 4 different groups of Celtic Fans. The Stadium was everything we thought it was going to be. We even got up the Tunnel. The place has not changed in almost 60 years but is soon to be renovated. A special trip!

Absolutely amazing, all Celtic fans need to go, when in Lisbon....I for one will be back, if used in the 2030 world cup, better kept stadium than Ibrox 😜

As a massive celtic fan this was on the bucket list. To visit the stadium where we won Europe's top trophy and it didn't disappoint. Security were great and let me and my girlfriend in to wander around stadium very surreal seeing it all up close. Spoke to Carlos the Security guard and we got down the tunnel and into the changing rooms. An unbelievable experience 🍀💚

Enjoyed the visit absolutely amazing staff were friendly.
Free to go in. Couldnt visit changing rooms as football was on later that day.

Visited the location of the greatest victory in Celtic Fc history a wonderful stadium difficult to get to you need to pay a taxi to take you and wait as you can’t get back cost us 50 euro for half hour in stadium and return to centre give the security guard a tip and he will let you in the changing rooms and up the tunnel

Bucket list place for my husband and I. Security allowed us entry for a small donation at the end. Got to wander about and stand on the famous spot where Celtic lifted their european trophy. A beautiful stadium 🍀💚

Celtic fan here. This is basically sacred ground to us fans. The fact that it's remained like this for 8 decades is astonishing. Marvellous piece of football history and sharing it with other Celtic fans was a delight. Shame about the renovation but an absolute beauty to visit.

I was in Lisbon for the Portugal v Scotland match and decided to visit the Estádio Nacional. It has always been on my bucket list to go there and since hearing that the stadium will be renovated next year I had to take the opportunity to go while in Lisbon for the match. All I can say is the experience did not disappoint. Although I’m 27, like every other Celtic fan I’ve watched so many videos about 1967 and to actually visit the stadium was incredible. I actually watched some old footage on my phone while I sat on one of the seats and it made me realise how the stadium looks almost identical to how it looked in 1967 which is amazing! As Celtic fans we have so much to be grateful for and none is bigger than the joy and happiness that Jock and the Lisbon Lions have brought to generations of supporters since that famous day. Huge thank you to the security staff at the stadium who were so kind offering to take photos and they were more than happy to allow me and other Celtic fans in for a look. Amazingly one of the security guards said they get loads of Celtic fans visit every single day which is fantastic. So overall I would thoroughly recommend any Celtic fan to go visit this iconic place (especially before the renovation works begin) and you won’t regret it!
Lastly, I wish Celtic would play a tribute game at the stadium before the regeneration work begins. I think it would be an amazing thing to do. I’m not sure who we could play against but I have no doubt our fans would fill the stadium. It would be so special!

Dear Sir ,my wife and I are visiting Portugal for the first time from Johannesburg with the main reason to visit National Stadium as we are Glasgow Celtic supporters. Problem is that we will be there from 24-28 Sept....can we still visit the stadium even though there are alterations to the running track going on ? It is too late to cancel our air tickets.

My son wants to visit the stadium for his 13th birthday but I can’t see anywhere that you can actually book a tour. Does this mean you can just walk in off the street and the security guard will let you in? I would hate to go to all that expense and not get in. Thanks ☘️

FYI In passing... The stadium is part of a larger national sporting complex which includes, for example, the national tennis centre. The stadium hosts the Portuguese Cup Final each May as well as some international matches. It’s also home to a local football team. An agenda for the complex as a whole is available online at jamor/ipdj.pt e.g The stadium is closed between 28 August and 30 October due to renovations to the surrounding running track. It’s either a 15-20 minute walk to the Cruz Quebrada train station - 5 stops to Cais de Sodre Lisbon - or 5 minutes by taxi (we took an Uber).

Not sure to be honest....10 miles possibly.. From the port into Lisbon its not more than a mile, then the stadium is opposite side of Lisbon. Get taxi from port straight along the river motorway, it wont take more than 20 minutes depending on traffic. hail hail

We stayed in apartment 5 D...rua nova almada…(can take 8 people)right in the middle of Chiado,in fabby old Lisbon...5 minutes from commercial square/on the waterfront.
The taxi rank opposite is where I picked up the taxi to Estadio Nacional. I enquired about how much it would be to take me, wait 10/15 minutes and return me to rank(this was 8am)….around 24 euros I was told....this was total...but I was unsure if he meant one way/I was more than happy to pay that each way if that was what he meant. As far as I know there are no organised tours and if there were then im sure the cost would be up to the 50 euro mark.
I wandered around stadia, and took some pictures, and headed back..arriving at taxi rank at 9am.
My visit was pretty much spur of the moment, but Im sure you could look into booking a mini bus if there are lots going, or look at taking the train...there is some station near by...but didn't take note of name.
I don't know where you stay, but im in Edinburgh...and I compare the distance of Edinburgh city centre to South Queensferry/ 10 miles...so its a bit out of town.
