I've been here a couple of times for drinks, and this week popped in with some friends for a meal and drinks. Staff were so friendly at the door as were staff serving at the bar, happy for a quick chat and to make us as comfortable as possible.
We ordered a few different means, beef nachos, chicken burger with crunchy chips, pumpkin kofta, and a cheese platter. Everything was delicious and satisfying. The drinks were pretty decent too.
Wherever you sit in this place, whether it's in the front bar, a room upstairs which has the best decor of anywhere in the area, or in the outdoor courtyard, it's relaxing and comforting. Definitely worth going out of your way to visit.

Great place for a few drinks with friends although can be very noisy.Six of us met for pre dinner drinks and whilst there is not much room we managed to get a tiny room that we could sit down in .Drinks were good and pleasant staff . Nice today vibe and good age group of people .Will go again .

Great any night of the week, my fave would be Mondays for trivia with Bruno, which will make your noggin’ burn searching for the answers to his trivia questions (Monday’s 7:30pm - message ahead to book a table).
OR Sunday’s for Vinnie’s slow braise Sunday’s - creative, yummy and a warm atmosphere.
I’d highly recommend any day of the week to hang out with Alex and the friendly and welcoming Temperance crew.

Our first visit to the Temperance Society bar was to meet up with friends. Liked the upstairs area with lounges and balcony seating. Great wine by the glass! We'll look forward to returning. All neighbourhoods would benefit from a little small bar this this one.

Great selection of local and top shelf Australian and internationally sourced beverages. Also the best pigeon burgers in town.

We love drinks at this place, great range! However service here can improve a little, Conveniently located, lovely atmosphere overall. We will be back!

Really great bar, reasonably priced, low key, very nice seating at the back outdoor courtyard area with serene atmosphere! To top it all off- staff here were amazing with smile, very nicely run!

One of a number of excellent wine bars in the inner west. Been there a few times, always great atmosphere. Not so good though if you are hard of hearing as there so many people there in the evenings and gets a bit loud!
