We came to this museum to get a quick overview and were so impressed that we stayed for a long time!
The museum includes several collections on the history of the city, the flora and fauna of the region, a mineral collection and a special exhibition on the ground floor.
We were impressed by the modern, clear description and aesthetic presentation of the exhibits.
We have been to many museums in many countries and this one is particularly well presented!
It is a pleasure to linger and delve into topics.

Přijeli jsme do města objevit jeho krásy a kochat se výhledy. Návštěva muzea je samozřejmost. Chtěla jsem se dozvědět jak vlastně město a jeho památky vznikaly. Byla jsem unesena množstvím dobových exponátů, informací a vůbec celými obsáhlými expozicemi. za luxusní vstupné má člověk hodiny a hodiny času procházet tuto krásnou budovu a nasávat nové informace z mnoha odvětví.

Južnočeški muzej je smešten u velkoj istorijskog zgradi na obodu starog dela grada. Ispred i iza nje prostiru zelene površine. U muzeju možete pronaći sve ono pto se i očekuje od jednog regionalnog muzeja, pregled istorijskih artefakata od praistorije do novijeg doba. Odlično mesto za upoznavanje lokalne istorije ali nemojte očekivati neka uzbudljiva iznenađenja. Za decu može biti interesantan deo sa istorijom pozorišta gde mogu isprobavati slobodno neke od scenskih rekvizita.

We went with the kids on a rainy day but it was a couple of hours well-spent. Wide range of exhibits, including a number of interactive ones which the kids (and adults) enjoyed. It gives a better idea of a historic provincial town but also a range of other cultural and natural life exhibits.
Ceske B in general is a lovely old town and well-worth a stopover.

Boli sme sa pozrieť včera s priateľom na výstavu Lego, čo musím zhodnotiť ako menšie sklamanie. Pre menšie deti je to skvelá výstava s možnosťou skladať si tam, pre väčších už je to naozaj viacmenej sklamaním, vzhľadom na to, že je výstava celkom maličká. Pre dospelých ktorí v detstve Lego zbierali to možno bude mať nádych nostalgie, nakoľko tam boli staršie kompletné zbierky.
Čo sa týka ostatných častí múzea, stálych exponátov - história ČB je skvelá, krásne popísaná, nemám tam čo vytknúť. Najkrajšou, interaktívnou časťou mi prišlo Divadlo. V celku to bolo pekné, múzeum má zaujímavé výstavy, personál je príjemný a usmiaty, ceny sú prijateľné.
Čo sa týka ostatných častí múzea, stálych exponátov - história ČB je skvelá, krásne popísaná, nemám tam čo vytknúť. Najkrajšou, interaktívnou časťou mi prišlo Divadlo. V celku to bolo pekné, múzeum má zaujímavé výstavy, personál je príjemný a usmiaty, ceny sú prijateľné.

A regional museum that has rotating exhibitions (Lego was one when we were there as was another on the theatre) as well as a well displayed and informative series of exhibits telling the history of the Town up to the modern day: the panels are written in Czech and English.

My partner took me to this museum for some local context about the history of Ceske Budejovice. The museum has displays about local history and culture going back several hundred years and more. Many aspects of history and culture are displayed so I found it interesting.

You can learn a lot about history of the city in this museum. Exhibits are mostly showed in the display cases and there are information not only in Czech but in English as well. It was very helpful to my partner, who doesn't speak Czech.
In addition to the permanent exhibition you can see in the museum seasonal exhibitions too. When we were there, this exhibitions were about history of Southern Bohemian theater and about history of books.
Entrance fee was 70,- CZK per adult.
