What a cracking museum for airplane enthusiasts, history buffs and those with no particular interest in aviation. At the equivalent of just £6 for a regular ticket, it’s worth every penny. There’s lots to see and the exhibitions are really interesting and well done. It’s very easy to get to via a tram from the old town. Would highly recommend spending a morning or afternoon here.

Easy to reach by tram/bus from city centre.
Huge, modern building... well kept, clean...
Plenty of planes (&related material)✈🛩🚁💺🪂 to see (some planes, helicopters ... however look more than wrecks 🤗, especially those parked outside/airplane graveyard).
Recommend to visit this museum, but improvements should be made!! Mostly "Polish only", some explanations in English, but for example the part "women pilots" was sadly not translated ....only Polish 🙊
However the "warning signs"/what not do do ("climbing the exhibits and touching the propellers") are in Polish, but also in English, and even in Ukrainian and German?! 🤣
Please do some efforts concerning more translations (English).

This place is heaven for anyone slightly interested in aircraft. You are free to roam around the huge field of old soviet built aircraft. The only thing they ask is that you do not touch the aircraft. It is a short bus ride (we were 5 stops away) from Krakow old town and a 5 minute walk once you get off the bus to the museum. If unsure where to go just ask the local people as we found so helpful and friendly. There is also an indoor museum with a few aircraft, a shop, a place to sit and a vending machine, but the real deal is outside as there is probably a 100 or more aircraft parked. My wife who is not the slightest bit interested in aircraft thought this was a 5 star experience, so I can't rate it highly enough......10 stars!!!

We visited the museum and what an incredible experience, it puts most other aviation museums to shame, there are so many great planes from pre World War One up to present day jets and much more. A great place for all the family to enjoy and see some amazing aircraft and some very special rare ones too, very inexpensive and well worth a visit.

Do you have to purchase tickets in advance or can they be bought at the museum on the day?

When going by Tram is the Museum in zone 1and would the ticket by valid to Nowa Huta ?
撰写日期:2019年2月19日
As mentioned above, it's less than 20 minutes to the museum, so a Z1 ticket will be fine, but Nowa Huta will be further, and will be in Zone 2.

We are looking at booking a mini break to Krakow at the hotel Alexandra. How long would it take to travel to the Austwich site?
撰写日期:2018年5月20日
Hi, they do pick ups from hotels around the old town vicinity, it takes about 45 minutes. They play a dvd in the bus to give you an idea of what happened and what you’ll will see, so it goes in quite fast. If it’s hot make sure you take a drink and a hat, as the walk around Birkenau is unshaded.

I understand you can get a taxi out to visit the centre, but is it hard to get a taxi back into the city, or how do you travel back to the city centre?
撰写日期:2016年8月12日
Finding a taxi in Krakow isn't a problem. A taxi from downtown to the Museum of Aviation should cost no more than 25 PLN.
With the Public transport (tram) you can get there from city center (line 4) or from the main railway station (line 5). Single tickets are available from vending machines at bus stops (cards, coins and banknotes) and in trams and buses (only coins and credit cards PayPass). Single ticket costs less than 1 euro. If you stay in Krakow for a few days worth to buy a ticket for 24h = 3.5 euro), 48h = 5.5 euro, 72h = 8 euros, 7 days = 10.5 euros. The prices are for adults. Children's tickets are half price. Tickets are checked often.
