Το Μνημείο Σοπέν βρίσκεται σε μια από τις εισόδους του Πάρκου Lazienki. Πρόκειται για ένα μνημείο αφιερωμένο στον Πολωνό καλλιτέχνη. Ο ειδικά διαμορφωμένος χώρος χρησιμοποιείτε για εκδηλώσεις. Ωστόσο αποτελεί ένα όμορφο σημείο για χαλάρωση όπως και το υπόλοιπο πάρκο.

We heard the Chopin concert here on Sunday at 4pm. It is a beautiful spot for a concert, a lot of people were there.

Our guide took us to the park to see the Chopin Monument. It was a beautiful monument and very unique. They were having a concert at the park that day but unfortunately other plans intervened and we were unable to attend the concert. The roses and other flowers were in full bloom and it was a spectacular sight.

Beautiful spot in a beautiful park. If you are here in the summer, don't miss the free open air Chopin concerts that take place at this monument every Saturday and Sunday at noon and 4:00 p.m.

The monument is more attractive than I expected, but nothing to go far out of your way for. The original was blown up by the Nazis in WWII (is there nothing those animals didn't blow up or try to kill?). One of the first things rebuilt by the Poles after the war.

Η επισκεψη στο πάρκο Lazienki είναι απαραίτητη για όποιον έρθει στη Βαρσοβία. Το μνημείο είναι επιβλητικό και απλά υπέροχο. Τριγύρω υπάρχουν παγκάκια όπου μπορείτε να απολαύσετε το πάρκο αλλά και παγκάκια που παίζουν έργα του Σοπέν.

The Frederic Chopin Monument is a large bronze statue that stands in Warsaw's Lazienki Park. It was designed in 1907 by Wacław Szymanowski and was supposed to be unveiled in 1910 on the centenary of Chopin's birth, however its execution was delayed by controversy about the design and then by the outbreak of WW 1. The statue was finally cast and unveiled in November 1926.
During WW 2 the statue was blown up by the Nazi's. There is an inscription on the monuments pedestal that reads: "The Statue of Fryderyk Chopin, destroyed and plundered by the Germans on 31 May 1940, rebuilt by the Nation. 17 October 1946."

En los meses de buen tiempo (junio-agosto) hay concierto gratuito los fines de semana de piano junto al monumento. Siempre se llena así que recomendable venir un poco antes.

Every sunday during the summer you can go to listen to the best pianists performing Chopin music under the monument. It's an exquisite experience. Come early to find a place on the ground though..
