Toeristen val geworden, heel vaak geweest maar gisteren werd gelijk gezegd dat er cash afgerekend moet worden en niet met bankpas, hadden zelfs een atm voor de deur staan!
Altijd sigaar besteld en altijd rond de 20 euro voor deze betaald maar gisteren moesten we 90 euro voor een sigaar betalen 🙈
Bij afrekenen moest ik nog 17 zloty terug krijgen maar helaas serveerster was al gevlogen en collega wist nergens van.

Amazing! Great venue with lovely setup. Multiple floors depending on what you’re after. Nice bar down stairs and live entertainment upstairs.
Expensive, however service and atmosphere was incredible. So nice to have a place to sit, chill enjoy a cocktail, whiskey and rum with a cigar and live music. I took my own cigar.

Veldig dyrt! Helt greie drinker, men ikke verdt prisen. Drinkene var dyrere enn i Norge!!! Ikke mulig å betale med kort. De har en minibank der som selvfølgelig har høye gebyrer. Anbefales ikke.

Great drink and whiskey selection in a fun environment. Bring cash as credit cards were not accepted.

Myself and several others after having NYE dinner stopped at this place and were told they were not accepting anymore people. So we ended up going back since we were all craving for smoking some stogies. The place stayed locked which requires you to ring the bell to get access. At this time, we were greeted and taken to a nice cozy bar upstairs. I tell you, this place really sets the mood for cigar lovers. Although later we found out the bar only takes cash. Therefore, one of us had to run to get cash out of ATM that was conveniently placed at the front door which charges 6 dollars fee. You hear me right, bring your cash if you are planning on visiting this place. Other than being a bit over priced it was great atmosphere.

This place is an absolute rip off avoid at all costs! Drinks were more expensive than London and that's saying a lot for a Polish bar

Great experience, bartender knew to recommend me plenty of new whiskey's I might have not otherwise tried, and not once was I disappointed by his recommendations. Knew his whiskey very well and had this amazing positive energy with him. Got to be one of best bar trips of my life!

I booked a table at Bar and Books in advance knowing that my friend wanted to see some live jazz - and we weren't disappointed. There's live music every Friday and Saturday night in the main upstairs bar provided by a great band who did three sets from 9:30pm, finishing after midnight. There was also a burlesque show going on downstairs which we didn't see but sums up the decadent atmosphere of the place.
Cocktails here are on the expensive side by Warsaw standards - anything with champagne in it is around £16 and spirit-based drinks are closer to the £10/£11 mark. There's a great whisky selection and plenty of other drinks on offer. It's worth bearing in mind, however, that Bar and Books markets itself as a cigar club (this designation allows it to bypass Polish laws banning smoking indoors) - plenty of other guests were taking advantage and, for us, it added to the charm of the place, but be prepared to leave with the strong smell of cigar smoke in your clothes.
Service was good (with waitresses regularly coming to the table with free portions of cheesy popcorn) and we had a great night.

My husband and i visited here on a Friday night. We only stayed downstairs as there was an event upstairs but the bar was lovely, service and drinks perfect. Not cheap but if you want a treat would recommend.

What a fun little bar. We walked by and went in. The drink selection is excuisite and the staff was super nice. Drinks were delish, can’t wait to visit the one in New York.

Hello,
Bar and Books Podwale is not small at all, there are two floors and enough space and seats. However, this is a busy period so prior reservation is highly recommended especially for Fri and Sat eves.

Hello I'm Celine from France,
I had the idea to make a suprise for my fiance while we are spending few months in Poland, and i was looking where i can find a nice place to listen some Jazz Music, eat and spend a really romanic moment before Christmas. Then i found "Podwale Bar and Books"!.
I red all the comments and it looks amazing so, i was wondering if i can have more information from the staff about the events and if there is a jazz band coming in December before the 20th?
