One of those interesting parks that has culture and heritage as well as physical beauty. The park's forests are lovely, the mountain range is impressive (low altitude in total but seemingly large ascents due to the low level of the valley), the hiking options are varied and there is still an active livestock operation in the park.
This latter element was quite interesting, including a few enclaves of huts/houses that are still used by the cowherds and their families while the cattle are grazing in the altitudes. Both culturally interesting as well as quite attractive groupings of houses. We were there while the cattle was in the process of heading down from the peak levels, so it was interesting to see and hear the cattle on the high trails.
Mt. Triglav itself is worth the climb, both for the nice views as well as to achieve one of the more achievable national summits. It does require a bit of scrambling but is basically just a moderately strenuous hike from one of the in-park huts or a pretty laborious out-and-back day hike.

Husband and I did the hike to Slevenova Spica late July.
We drove to the Vrsic Pass where there is a carpark (if full, you’ll need to back track and just park at a lower car park). This is where the track begins.
On the day that we did it, it was very foggy with limited visibility. We thought we’d start and see how the weather was.
The first part is uphill for about 20-30 min. Up ‘stairs’ and also a trail across gravel slope. You’ll then reach sign and this is the Vrsic saddle. Sign says this 1st part takes about 20min. We took 30min.
From there you go right and it’s a mix of down/up for about another 30min. You’ll then reach another junction where you need to stay right.
Then up to a grassy meadow/plateau and you’re almost there. The very top bit is short and reasonably steep. But what a view! Fortunately the cloud cleared while we ate our lunch, and all of a sudden you could look down into the valley to a village. Magnificent scenery!
Back the way we came, although if you’re keen (and not nervous with heights (like I am a bit)), when you reach the 1st junction (on the return part) you can go right. A couple were doing this as we reached this point. They climbed along the snow section and then up to the trail across the gravel slope (longer/higher than the first one). From memory, if you take this path back to the saddle (add another 15min)
Otherwise just head back the same way as you came.
What a hike!! Amazing!
We are in our mid 50’s and did it with reasonable ease (about 2.5-3 hrs with boots (although saw others in sneakers). A walking pole helped on the down hill parts too.
Well worth it!

It is a wonderful Natural Park in Northern Slovenia, and within it there are, among other things, Lake Bled and the Pericnik Waterfalls.
You will need at least 3 or 4 days to be able to admire even just the natural attractions of this Park, but it is definitely worth it.
Recommended for all lovers of nature trails, for those who want to take amazing photographs of unforgettable views, and for those who simply want to enjoy the infinite silence surrounded by greenery.
An unforgettable experience!

The tour is unmissable. Lakes and waterfalls that are movie sets. Everything very organized and clean. It has trails of different levels. A good walk. A suggestion is to take water and a snack along the way. Go with comfortable shoes.

my most beautiful, longest and most challenging walk in the mountains so far. But the views were worth it! Triglav National Park and all its mountains are really beautiful and everyone can find a way :)

This beautiful park is very large and it takes days and days to see it all. I only know part of it, but what I have seen in recent days has literally enchanted me and made me want to learn more about it. The best time to visit it is spring, when there is no more snow along the roads and paths.

Triglav national park is one of the most stunning sights that beset Slovenia, no, Europe, no, the entire world. Truly, there is nothing that has beaten this place for me.

Short of spending a month here, you cannot possibly see it all. We took a few days to get around to several different areas and would have loved the time for several more days. A stunning park with fantastic small towns and great hiking trails all around. Depending on what you like to do, there's is absolutely something for everyone.

The entirety of Triglav National Park is huge. It surrounds the mountain of Triglav, which the highest mountain in Slovenia and part of the Julian Alps. I'm sure there are many different ways and places to spend time here.
We chose to spend a day driving through the park, mostly via the switchback road up to Vrsic Pass, and doing a few short hikes. All were beautiful, with plenty of mountain scenery, although be aware when we visited (June 1) a lot of the higher hikes/trails were still snow-covered. We were definitely glad to take a day of our vacation to appreciate the lovely nature in this park, and I'm sure there's plenty more to see and hike with more time available.

Hi All
I am arriving in Slovenia next Thrusday (01/06) and will be picking up a car for a road trip around the Triglav National Park.
I'm hoping to tick off a number of hikes over three days, but I'm struggling to decide which ones to do.
So far I have narrowed it down to the six below, but need help narrowing these down further...
- Debela Pec
- Soca Trail (Source to Bovec)
- Vrsic Pass and Slemenova Špica
- Lake Bohinj / Mount Vogel
- Valley of the Seven Lakes
- Mt Spik OR Mala Mojstrovka (South)
All of these are of course dependent on the conditions at the time. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.
Any help is appreciated :)

Hello everybody, I just arrived at Ribčev Laz and I gotta say - what a beautiful country you have :)!
The only bad thing that happened today was that I found that there is nobody in my group who wants to climb Triglav with me. But to the point - is there anyone that is going there this week and wouldn't mind young czech man in their group? Reply or hit me up with a DM :).
P. S.
I've left my flip-flops at home 😁.

Hello, I want to do some hiking solo around the park in particular the lakes. I wanted to check what sort of danger there is in terms of wildlife, in particular, snakes? I am petrified of them and wonder the chances of seeing any. Thank you!

In 10 plus visits to Slovenia we have not seen snakes nor bears . Seen mountain goats, fox etc .

Hello, me and my wife wants to visit the park in 1st week of August, but we are a bit confused in which side of the park should we try to find a accommodation, Bled or ?? Thanks for the advices.
撰写日期:2019年7月28日
I stayed in Ljubljana and made a day trip. If you are staying at the park you will find it busy in August... But accommodation can be found in private AirBnB - just choose something close to what you want to do whether it is hiking or the lake...

Are there any suitable trails for a 4 year old?
Ones with "monutain" feeling, but safe (no chains :) ).
Thx in adv. /Ewa

Hi,
My family and I are planning for a day trip to triglav national park, can we drive between the spots (Bohinji lake, river and waterfall)? because not all of us will be able to walk for long distances. Thanks
撰写日期:2019年7月6日
Hi. You can drive with a car, but be prepared to pay some more for parking. The area is pricy, because the officials want to convince people to park at Bohinjska Bistrica (in example) and then use free public transportation. More: write bohinj.si and parking in your web browser.

Can anyone recommend a hiking Guide for Hire?
I have an awesome group of 10 adventurous hikers interested in exploring the trails around the Julian Alps. We intended to backpack the new 186 mile Julian Alps trail. The maps were supposed to be out in June. I have read a Slovenian newspaper article that states the trail will now not be open until September. I have been told that the trails already exist. I am not confident enough to hike the trails without a detailed map. We are interested in hiring a guide. My group will arrive in Bled on August 23rd. We would like to hike Starting on August 24th until the 30th. We are interested in hiking the trails from Bled to Bovec but are flexible

Hi all.
I will be visiting Lake Bled and Triglav National Park on 2nd to 5th July. I was wondering if anyone could help us with working out how to get into the national park. We don’t have a lot of money so to us the best way seemed to be to stay in Bled and go for the day to Triglav as accommodation is expensive within the park. Could anyone tell me how to travel from Bled to the park, we were thinking by bus? Or is there somewhere cheaper and easier to stay to get into the national park.
Thanks
Lauren and Tom

There is a travel center right in town next to the bus station in Lake Bled. You can either schedule a van to take you, or take a local bus that takes travelers to different areas of the park. Different hostels have buses that go into the park as well, depending on where you are staying. In all, visit the travel center and they can point you in the right direction. The central Bled bus station is located on the north-east part of the lake, 3 minutes walking distance from the lake, at the cross-section of the roads Cesta svobode and Grajska cesta. Enjoy your trip!
