Sas-hegy hiking trail in Budapest.
Following the trail accross cliffs, on this hill, higher than the Gellért-hill or the new MOL campus, you'll get an astonishing view. From Biatorbágy through the Pest area to the Megyeri Bridge and even more. An unique protected natural reserve in the center of the city.
The reserve has a really small exhibition about the flora and fauna of the hill. Some interactive elements are provided, but nothing much. Additionally there is a small playground for children.
With the base ticket you can have a walk to the viewpoint and check the exhibition. What worths more is to get a ticket for the guided walk. Then you will have the chance to get around the hill and during the 1.5 hour walk (not much in km, not much steps, lots of viewing and talking) you will have the opportunity to get to know the hill, the plants and some insects/animals. English tours should be booked in advance I think. Check the page of the Duna-Ipoly National Park Directorate for more details (and other interesting things to visit in Budapest)

Nice small building, in here know you buy the ticket to the lookout and the park. If you want show for you the short video the place history and the works, animals and plants. Nice panoramic lookout, you see all budapest and more area, quiet place in side the natural territory.

Pár orát érdemes rászánni a sétára, a csodálatra, a panoráma fantasztikus.
Nagyon tetszett a info fogadó helysége, kiállitas. A gyerekeket is lekötötte. Kedves a hölgy, aki fogadott és tájékoztatott. Hasznosak a kihelyezett táblák.
Szép emlék marad a séta.

We came to Sas Hill nature reserve looking for lizards, and were not disappointed. Not only did we see dozens of Wall and Green lizards, but also many other species of wildlife. The walk around the hill was informative and interesting, and the views excellent - especially at the top of the hill. The lady who served us at the kiosk was very friendly and helpful too. Would definitely recommend a visit if you wish to support and see Hungary's wildlife.
Just one word of warning, if using Google Maps to navigate to Sas Hill, make sure it directs you to the correct entrance to the reserve on the north side of the hill, and not to the south side of the hill like with us!

There is a good visitor centre with lots of information and interactive stuff for kids. It was not expensive to get in. We did the guided tour which happens 1x an hour. The guide was very knowledgable and friendly. The hill is home to different types of lizard, birds, bugs and lots of plants. There are visitor toilets and a few gifts for sale too.
