Lovely little museum with great info. There are steps at the entrance, as with many places in Budapest not wheelchair friendly.

Musician's house in which the musician lived for the last 5 years, 3 rooms to visit with audio guide (paid) or explanation sheet available in French (free). Pianos, work desk and other belongings that belonged to him. Interesting, well done, the visit can be done quite quickly. The museum is close to metro line 1 and the House of Terror.

Manned cloakroom - you need to leave coats/backpacks etc there but are given a small shoulder bag if you want to take valuables in with you eg phone/purse etc Very informative information boards on the stairway up to the museum on the first floor. Entrance fee not expensive and very good audio tour only around an additional euro.

I grew up studying classical music and thoroughly enjoyed the museum. I purchased the audio guide which I found as a must do if you want to take in this museum to the fullest. I learned a lot more through the audio guide and it guided me in the right order through each room to each exihibit and area. I learned a lot and felt at awe over some of the pianos and other memorabilila I was able to see. It was, for me, an amazing experience! I think I stayed there for about 1.5-2 hours.
Having said that, if you don't really know Franz Liszt or much about classical music, I don't think this would be a good museum for you.

It was very relaxing to visit the home of one of the geniuses of music, in fact while visiting Ferenc Liszt's house you can listen to his epic compositions on the piano in the background. You can take advantage of an audio guide or a paper guide also in Italian. The structure consists of only 3 rooms, located on the first floor of a building.
You can get there by getting off the Vorosmarty Utca metro line. near the Museum of Terror. I find the price in line with the increases that have occurred throughout Europe after the Covid-war crisis, nothing scandalous.
It certainly remains one of the least expensive attractions in Budapest. Then it has the advantage of being open on Mondays, the day on which the city's most famous museums are closed.

Was maar een kleine tentoonstelling. Ik ben zelf niet zo geïnteresseerd in klassieke muziek, dus voor mij was het niet zo bijzonder. De medewerkers waren jammer genoeg niet echt vriendelijk.

A very personal look at Liszt's life, circle and possessions. Quite a small exhibition but worthwhile. Ask to see the room where Liszt works are played in concert.
