It was our Friends Stag do and we wanted to do a fun activity whilst seeing the beautiful city. We were all excited and eager and were met by our smartly dressed host, greeted fantastically Igor went above and beyond lending his jacket to our friend who was cold. The bike ride showed us everything we wished we could see in Budapest and gave us a feel of what it was like as a local seeing some hidden places we never imagined we’d see on a normal “tour bus” experience. We got so many great photos and the host came out with some great one liners which certainly were not lost in translation, one about the one armed Snooker player was a highlight but we won’t spoil that for you. The only complaint we had was that 90 minutes simply was not enough and we didn’t have enough money to tip for this wonderful must do experience.

Please please please do NOT book this trip.
You do not get to go through the city as per the pictures and write-up on the website.
What you get is a location point based outside the city on a disused Industrial Estate where all you get to see are disused factories and piles of mud.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Total scam! The trip was in a construction area outside city. Total waste of money. Don't book this!!

Absolutely horrendous company with false advertising. Paid €300 and were taken to an abandoned industrial estate, had to get off and push the bike because it was stuck in the dirt track we cycled up and then back down. Full scam, emailed to complain and have been ignored by the company. The only positive about the whole experience was a friendly "guide" who steered the bike. Save your money and AVOID!

Due to the council ban this event took place on waste industrial land. It was a complete waste of money.

We booked a beer bike with this company towards the end of September 2019 as part of a group holiday (10 people). The website suggests that beer bike tours populated areas showing the bike touring through streets and encourages people to book and ‘enjoy sightseeing of Budapest’.
I emailed several different companies and this was the first to get back to me. I submitted an online booking form and later received a WhatsApp message from a representative of the company stating that a request had been sent to me via PayPal. Foolishly, I assumed that the 218.25EUR they had requested was the full price of the tour. However, this was not stipulated anywhere I was simply asked to pay the bill. On paying the bill I had to chase up a confirmation email which then told me that collectively we would have to pay an extra 131EUR to the driver on the day for the booking. When I spoke to the representative about this and the fact it had not been communicated with me, she replied with a message which I can only assume should have been sent initially at the beginning of our interactions as this was fully explained.
We went on with the tour, and not knowing Budapest at all, made a three-mile taxi journey out of the city to “Csepel Rakpart” only to arrive in a derelict car park. It was so dark that I couldn’t see a thing around me. The sightseeing of Budapest was clearly not going to happen here. Admittedly, it was pouring with rain so spirits were a little low and everyone wanted to get on with the activity. We met with our ‘sober driver’ who told us that we had an hour and a half on the bike and no more as he wanted to get home. He could not have been more unenthusiastic about the tour. We then set off down a pitch-black deserted service road to an industrial estate confused as to where the Danube was as the bike itself was covered in warnings not to jump in. Our tour was at 1930 so it was understandably dark. It was pouring with rain and the bike had no side covers what so ever so everyone was soaked through. We saw literally nothing of Budapest on the tour. The beer however was reasonable.
I don’t usually bother with reviews, however on this occasion I feel that the beer bike was beyond mis sold. We have paid 350EUR to leave early because we were so poorly entertained by the activity. Admittedly these things are always going to be what you make them. But a pitch-black service road, in the pouring rain, with a tour leader who makes it clear he is not interested in providing a good service made it a bit of a disappointing evening.
I was asked how the tour went by the representative when asking for website details the following day. I was polite enough to reply explaining that we were a little disappointed with how the trip went but sadly she did not have the same level of politeness and I saw no reply.
Since the trip I have looked up other beer bike companies in the city and found that new legislation does not allow the bikes into the city centre. This was not communicated to me at all during the booking process. I would certainly not have booked if I knew that we would be cycling round such a derelict service road. I would strongly advise people to do their research into these companies before booking and certainly avoid budapestbeerbikes.com. I feel that my entire dealing with the company was unprofessional and unsatisfactory.

Worst experience in Budapest. Not provided with anything that we were promised before making payment. Would not recommend to anyone.

Awful. My mate sicko-sirrell hated every minute of it, he said it was the second worst stag do he’s been on (I recall him saying Berlin was the worst). Very disappointing as the driver spoke no English and we got mugged off by the taxi drivers, which were ordered by the beer bike staff.

I booked this online before heading to Budapest for a group of 7 adults. Website for ‘Budapest beerbikes’ looked brilliant, pictures looked good.
We paid a €180 deposit for 20 litres of beer and 15 bottles of cider (added this for non-beer drinkers) and we were to pay €180 to our driver on arrival.
We arrived at the park 15 mins late because we got lost however we were still willing to pay full price until we actually seen what we were doing.
We were to cycle the beer bike around a small park for 1 hour 30 mins. The park took us 4 mins to walk round and with a skate park in the middle and views of high rise flats - no thanks! We told our driver we did not wish to carry out the activity. We didn’t pay the remaining €180 as we didn’t do the activity but we are still €180 (deposit) out of pocket for nothing.
Falsely advertised! - do NOT waste your money.

As of last summer (2018) city rules changes have forced bikes to go well outside the city center. The activity is still fun but not downtown. Some companies are still misleading customers with pictures and old reviews.

There was the option to get the lowest amount, we had 8 lads and we got the next size up (cant remember the amount) it wasn't much more in price and we managed it nicely with a few pints left at the end and the driver was happy to finish them all off on the bike at the end.

Get either the second size up or the third size from the standard amount. We had 8 of us and the second size up was plenty and had a lot left at the end!
