Pałac Festetics to jeden z największych i najciekawszych pałaców na Węgrzech.. Pałac otacza park w stylu angielskim, założony w XIX wieku. W pałacu znajduje się biblioteka, w której regały z książkami mają aż 8 metrów wysokości.W stajni pałacu znajdują się zabytkowe powozy konne.Pałac nie został zniszczony podczas II wojny światowej.

Lovely building in nice gardens. Pleasant stroll around the curated rooms, but it could have been made much more interesting with a more insightful and engaging written commentary.
Why did Mary Hamilton marry him? How did they meet? Did they share a common language? Why did she live in her own part of the palace? Were they estranged from mainstream aristocratic life? Why did the more recent chatelaine leave in 1940? Where did she go to? Did the master of the library actually read all those books? Why were they bound in matching covers? Why couldn’t the visit include the bedrooms, kitchens etc? How did the servants live?
It was an OK visit; we were pleased to have seen some of the palace, but the visit was dull. With more imaginative curation it could be so much better.

The Festetics Castle is an absolute must to see in Keszthely. It is one of my favorite castles in Hungary. It is very well maintained. It is a must for history loving people.

This is quite a lovely castle with grounds that you can walk around in at no charge. Stop at the cute café (sit outdoors if weather permits) and enjoy a coffee; the pastries are decorated in neon colors and weirdly tempting however I didn't try any. If you are a guest at the cafe the use of the WC is free; a waiter will open the turnstyle for you.

Das Schloss ist sehr edel & auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Besonders die riesige Bibliothek, ein Blickfang. Gut ausgeschildert auf englisch, deutsch und natürlich ungarisch. Der mächtige Garten lädt mit vielen Bänken und natürlich dem hochinteressanten Palmengarten mit diversem Federvieh zum Verweilen ein. Des weiteren ist ein Café sowie Eisstand vor Ort, eine Garderobe und saubere Toiletten ebenfalls. Die Kosten sind auf die verschiedenen einzelnen Attraktionen abgestimmt, was man nicht besuchen will kann man sich also wortwörtlich sparen. Würde ich nochmal besuchen.

A Keszthelyi strand előtt (mellett) található park, meseszép! Tiszta, rendezett, csodálatos fákkal és virágokkal! A parkban található egy illemhely, ami első osztályú tisztaságú! A strand vize egy bizonyos területen, sajnos a gyönyörű hattyúk miatt szennyezett!!!!!

Кестхей небольшой венгерский городок, но со своей историей и историческим замком. Кестхей Венгры называют «столицей Балатона». Дворец или замок носит имя Фештетичей. Своим именем он обязан старинному дворянскому роду, которому он принадлежал несколько сотен лет. История замка уходит во времена, когда Венгрия "управляла" почти всей Европой. Дворец окружает парковый комплекс, выполнен в европейских традициях того времени. Его украшают скульптуры, фонтаны, клумбы и цветочные композиции. Дворец Фештетичей это единственное в своем роде строение в Венгрии, так как сохранилось со времен постройки в первозданном виде, без реконструкций.

Кратко о Кестхее, основное
Городок небольшой примыкает к Балатона, там же жд станция и автовокзал-удобно.Оттуда можно пройтись по центральной пешеходной улице, на которой расположены практически все достопримечательности, магазинчики и кафе.Гипермаркеты на окраине от центра около 3х км, добираться на общественном транспорте не очень удобно.за день можно все посетить.До/от Хевиза есть велодорожки через лес около 5км.Городок достаточно интересный.
