I recently rented two bikes through AbilioBikes in Tavira for a short, four day, independent, mostly off-road tour of the Algarve. The Trek mountain bikes we rented worked flawlessly, with one exception - the SPD pedals on one bike had some attachment/release problems which were overcome.
Abilio was very helpful with information in the planning and lead-up stages of our Algarve adventure. (Note: our Trek bikes DID HAVE direct mounting points for rear racks and panniers, although we were told otherwise.)
Importantly, Abilio offered high quality, brand name bikes, well maintained, at very reasonable rental cost. I would certainly use them again, and I heartily recommend them to all - novice riders to experienced cyclists, alike.

friendly efficient bike shop with a great range of quality bikes to hire at sensible prices. can get busy so worth booking in advance. they have e bikes hybrids mountain gravel & road bikes to hire . great area to cycle with lots of quiet and off road routes

We rented two road bikes at Abilio Bikes Shop.
Great service, both bikes were in very conditions and pick-up and return went smoothly and puntual.
Fully recommended in case you want to rent a bike in this region.

Excellent service from experienced staff. Good quality bikes. The best in Tavira. Dont think about going anywhere else.

We hired Mountain bikes on 2 separate days, during our stay in Tavira. The service is very efficient and you are away riding, very quickly. No lengthy form filling, just a few simple details, a €40 deposit for 2 bikes and the bikes were €24 each, per day. The bikes were Trek and looked brand new. Definitely recommend

My wife and I have rented road bikes from Abilio many times over the past couple of years, and it's been a stellar experience every single time. 100% recommended!

Not good for rental this is a bike sale shop seems reluctantly doing rental.
Miserable staff, insists on cash for deposit card for rental, didn’t offer any advice or guides on routes, supplied Bike of wrong size, and expensive at nearly double what was available elsewhere. Feels like an enthusiasts shop stocked with the latest gear rather than a friendly tourist rental. The kit all looks good quality, the web site full of promises and downloads, and the shop posh and clean, but the execution and my actual experience was very poor and I would recommend you look elsewhere.

Trips between Olhao and V R de Santo Antonio following as much as possible the Eco Route along the Ocean. App. 80% of the route is well signed out. The countryside app 20 km from the coastline is splendid. Gravel routes are rare as most of the countryside is occupied by different agricultural occupations.. In 6 days I cycled app 250 km

Accueil chaleureux, les vélos fonctionnent bien. Belle visite de tavira. On recommande de louer les vélos pour aller au bord de l'eau.

The store as ever were very helpful from the booking online to the pick up, set up of the bike and would highly recommend the road routes they have on their site if you do not know the area.

Hello,
Yes, our maps works in Iphone but for strava you need to have wifi. If you use a garmin, you make the tracks download and then you dont need a wifi, ok?
