If you want service in the sport at home, there are a few things to keep in mind.
1. Do not come when the staff have friends or acquaintances in the store. You as a customer do not exist then.
2. Be a MAN,
3. Be pushy, push yourself and/or assume that your need for service is more important than that of families with children, young people or single women.

Hemavan is a disaster! Deplorable ski resort... Lives in the hotel, bought 1 year lift pass. In case of wind of 11 meters per second, the center lift is closed and then the open lifts and pistes cannot be reached. No transport from the Centrum lift to the other part of the system. With 2 children's lifts and one open lift that cannot be accessed, you do not have to pay anything back for the lift pass.
Service does not exist, and when you call the ski rental and ask what they thought, you will be called an idiot! They blame the weather, but you don't have a backup like transport with a scooter or a smaller bus.
Tärnaby is slightly better, but service is not something you are known for either...
I have gone and stayed in hotels in most ski resorts in Sweden and Hemavan is probably the worst in every way!

Very beautiful mountain lake in Hemavan and Tärnaby in Västerbotten county both in winter and summer. There are plenty of chanterelles and hornbeam. You can fish and catch trout and char in a beautiful mountain environment.

Otroligt dålig service, liftpersonal som inte hjälper till, otrevlig och okunnig personal i uthyrningarna. Dåligt med snö i backarna pinsamt att kalla dom ”öppna”. Men ta betalt kan dom för ingenting.

Boende på trolltunet visade sig vara ett lyckokast. Nära till flyget och nära till backarna. Fräscht och en helt otrolig service av personalen. Boka här.
Backarna var något svåra för våran 4 åriga nybörjare, men vi åkte upp halva liftarna så det löste sig bra.

Bokade en stuga men vid ankomst var stugan ej städad. Kontaktade stugförmedling som löste detta med ersättningsstuga och vår bokade stuga städades nästa FM. Vid inflyttning till vår nystädade stuga fick vi presenter till våra 4 barn. Kontaktades under veckan av personal från stugförmedling som kollade att allt var OK. Fick även ekonomisk ersättning för första dagens strul. Vi återkommer till underbara Hemavan.

Skiing The pandemic year 20/21 is a little different, but if everyone relates to the regulations and recommendations, the visit works well. Of course, many people miss après ski, late dinners at a restaurant, but not enough to refrain from a visit to the mountains.
It feels like the region is aiming ahead with a new godollift, lots of new mountain homes and upgrading of restaurants. Of course it feels a bit desolate when the classic Hemavan Värdshus does not find a new owner, but you eat really well at Bjork, Bakfickan in Tärnaby.
Skiing suits those who like cruising on well-groomed slopes.
On the wish list a little care / bush thinning in Granenbacken and a new chairlift besides Hassebacken.
But most important of all for the benefit of the region is that the flight works from Arlanda
It feels like the region is aiming ahead with a new godollift, lots of new mountain homes and upgrading of restaurants. Of course it feels a bit desolate when the classic Hemavan Värdshus does not find a new owner, but you eat really well at Bjork, Bakfickan in Tärnaby.

Slutar aldrig förvånas.
Ena gången är det att man inte orkat pista. Nästa gång ställer man en eller flera liftar. Eller så begränsar man helt plötsligt öppettiderna.
Som lök på laxen oftast sur o arg personal i centrumhuset.
Annars trevliga famiöjebackar för nybörjare och medelgoda åkare. Trevlig offpist då det kommer snö om man kan tänka sig att tura lite.

Kanonbra skidåkning för alla åldrar i varierande backar. Långa nedfarter på fjället, branta backar i skogsteräng, skicrossbana för barnen samt stort freeskiområde. Trots påsklovsvecka var liftköerna bara undantagsvis för långa i någon lift.
