A fitting tribute to one of Freo’s most famous sons. Millions of people world-wide acclaim his tenure as the frontman for
AC/DC as the bands best era. If there is a muted criticism of the statue then it is that the statue needs to be at least twice this size to adequately represent this larger than life character.

A Memorial To A Singer

Bon Scott was born in Scotland in 1946 and came to Australia and went to school in Perth, became the lead singer for AC/DC , and became famous and sadly died in London in 1980 from what was stated as alcohol poisoning. I knew of AC/DC and heard of Scott but this memorial helped clarify what went on. Interesting memorial in a somewhat tacky location but better than none.The statue was done by Greg James who was also responsible for "Bella" around the corner at Bather's Beach.

Untimely loss to rock and roll music

Robert Belford "Bon" Scott (1946-1980) was a Scottish-born rock singer who achieved fame as lead singer and lyricist with Australian hard rock band AC/DC. He was born in Forfar, Scotland and began his career as a rock and roller in Fremantle, Western Australia. His statue is located in the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour. Scott died of acute alcoholic poisoning in London in 1980 at the age of 33. Many people believe that while AC/DC has continued to perform, the band never fully recovered from the untimely loss of Bon Scott.

It's a long way to the top if you want to rock'n roll

Bon Scott became famous as lead vocalist for hard rock band AC/DC, Bon Scott is rated as one of the greatest rock singers of all time, in one of the greatest hard rock bands of all time, It's sad that Bon Scott died in his prime, when AC/DC were getting into top gear. The statue is worth seeing, I call in to see in when I'm near the Fishing Boat Harbour in Fremantle.

Bon Scott (1946-1980) arrived in Australia from Scotland at the age of 6. He showed early musical talent. He was recruited to be front man for the rock and roll group AC/DC, which became one of the world's most popular hard-rock bands. The reasons behind Bon Scott's death are unclear, but he is often cited as one of the greatest hard rock lead vocalists of all time. The statue is a good representation of the singer, it is near the fishing boat harbour

The statue now stands surrounded by a wooden platform and is a place to visit by AC/DC fans. Located near Cicerellos.

Bon Scott was born in Scotland in 1946. His career as a rock n' roller took off when he joined AC/DC avocalist and lyricist. A friend of mine who worked for New Musical Express in London rated him as one of the greatest hard rock singers of all time. His life came to an untimely end in 1980; speculation was that his death was due to alcoholism. Anyway, it was a sad death and AC/DC were never quite the same without him. The statue is very life-like, full of vigor. It's near the fishing boat harbor.
