Voyage incroyable.L’hotel est vraiment propre très bon service la plage et la piscine très belle. L'équipe de l’animation est incroyable surtout Rafael, Thalia, Marian.Ils sont enjoué et impliqué.

Came back from Play Pesquero a week ago.
It was an AMAIZING vacation, total relaxation and joy. Staff always very friendly, the best pools, beach, service, and coctails - the best Margarita coctail.
During our stay I had the time to get back to my gym routines. Very well equipped gym, just a few steps away from our room, with wonderful staff - Leodenis and Livan -alawys available to help with a smile on the face.

Family holiday from August 7 to 14, 2024. Excellent service with Sunwing. It was our 4th trip to Cuba and by far our most beautiful experience on all points. The beach is superb, the water very clear and no seaweed. We did catamaran, kayak and pedal boat, everything is free. The resort is very well maintained, clean and safe. The pools were well maintained and the water clean. The rooms were always very clean and cleaned every day. The food was good with good variety, beyond our expectations and compared to our past experiences in Cuba. We have not lacked anything. For the round trip from the airport to the Inn, the guides spoke very good French and even used typical Quebec expressions and it was a good time to learn more about their culture and history. WiFi is free and available throughout the resort as well as the beach with a very good connection even for video calls. I also knew people who used their cell phones on LTE without any problems. The staff members are courteous, smiling and always at the front so that nothing is lacking. Whatever your age, you will have fun and there is something for everyone. In the evening, there are always Various Things to do and a nightclub open until 2:00 AM. But our favorite is really the animation team who did a remarkable job every day and at different times of the day. Again, there was something for all tastes and ages (water polo, dance, water games, aquaform, yoga, volleyball, etc.). The animation team is very dynamic, attentive and helped us live an unforgettable stay. In short, a very nice trip and we will go back!

For the airport/hotel round trip, the guides spoke very good French and even used typical Quebec expressions, and it was a good time to learn more about their culture and history. WiFi is free and available throughout the resort and on the beach, with a very good connection even for video calls. I've also known people to use their cell phones on LTE without any problems. The staff are courteous, smiling and always on hand to make sure you don't miss a thing. Whatever your age, you'll have a great time, and there's something for everyone. In the evening, there's always a variety of activities and a discotheque open until 2:00 AM. But our favorite part was really the animation team, who did an outstanding job every day and at different times of the day. Great place for a holiday with the small family!Welcoming and warm staff. Do not forget your masks for snorkeling by the sea, the fish are beautiful.

We went to Playa Pesquero for the 14th time. The complex is as beautiful as ever. The staff is kind and friendly both in restaurants and throughout the site. The rooms are very clean. But on the food side, this year, it left something to be desired. There was very little choice in the buffet (dinner and dinner). No seafood and there were eggs once in 2 weeks. The main pool was under renovation and the other pool was often green due to lack of chlorine. I would still recommend this Pension as it was an unusual situation. The Inn was only 15% occupied. Is that the reason?

We spent a wonderful week at playa Pesquero, Holguin.
Our daughter wedding was held at the Gazibo ocean view. It was very nice however the champagne was nice but the food that we were to have sat out in the sun for several hours so we advised the wedding coordinator that we would not eat and that we had request that the food be served in the lobby. We were also told to go to the cigar lounge at 8:30 for dancing. That did not happen. The server knew nothing about this.
I want to give special cudos to Von our server at the Pipa and pool bar. He was so amazing, friendly, always served with a smile. Educated us on the history of Cuba. Very knowledgeable.
The animation team was fantastic, patient, friendly and always smiling.
All week the food was delicious and plentiful no complaints at all.
We shall return to this beautiful resort.

Playa Pesquero has incredible staff. We were there for two weeks during which we witnessed some unreasonable guests. Kudos to all the staff how they handled it all so gracefully.
They have a nice lady at the kids club, you can leave your kids with her-worry free. All the entertainers work really hard to engage the guests. They are all incredible including their MC Leo.
Their entertainment program was lovely. I enjoyed Dia Cubano events. One of the entertainers, Joel, dressed in traditional Cuban attire, brought that event to another level. What an incredible host and dancer!
The hotel also has an amazing local band playing traditional Cuban music and also some more recent. We were also lucky to see a world class group of break dancers and a magician. There was a live band, covers mostly. They’re actually good, but they should consider getting a better Front of House (sound engineer).
I haven’t been to the cigar bar where dancing/ partying for adults only took place nightly, so I can’t comment on that.
My kid enjoyed entertainment tremendously, every bit of it during our stay.
Every single person working there was amazing from our housekeeper, to servers to skippers at the beach.
There were two as**les on the beach sitting most of the day at the round plastic table between the marine shack and the beach. Their attitude was terrible to say it gently. I suspect they may be the owners of the non motorized equipment, not sure. The good news is you don’t have to deal with them at all, just avoid them.
Food wise, I expected way less than what was offered daily. There’s plenty of everything. I’ve seen people bring their own specific food. There’s no need for that. We never bothered to book any of the specialized restaurants, so I can’t comment on that. BTW I brought tons of medicine just in case and didn’t need any, other than an occasional use of mosquito repellant.
The hotel has good doctors, nurses and pharmacists if you ever need them. My kid was bitten by a cuarentiña so we went to see the Dr. The bite was harmless and the care was excellent.
There is a nice looking gym as well next to the Dr. and the pharmacy.
They also have great coffee bar.
The beach was amazing. No seaweed, chrystal clear and enough shade. There are tropical fish (beach left). Moreover, the guests cannot fight over loungers as there is staff who brings you the loungers when you show up. Much appreciated.
There were numerous excursions you can book at the hotel. Mind you whether you book it through x or y or z counter, it’s the one and only government tourist agency that runs all the trips in the area, so no difference/competition in offerings. It is what it is. For example, you book a tour that includes swimming with dolphins. You get there, dolphins do their thing and if you actually want to swim with dolphins, you pay extra cash on the spot. Another example, if you want to sail, you book a tour that involves catamaran sailing, but the motor is always on, so it’s not really sailing despite favourable weather/ wind conditions (went on two separate excursions and then gave up). Perhaps not enough tourists are into sailing and more into drinking on the vessel instead…not sure.
Anyway we had an amazing time. My kid is already planning going back to PP.

Yes I was there for New Year with my family. Wifi was available. We arrived late and had to wait in a long line up in the morning for password. I don’t know why this was not included in our package to save time.

Hello. It is not a weird question. There were no cats in the premium section. When we went over to the buffets at the playa section in 2 weeks i may have seen 1 or 2 cats. Not a lot.

I am wondering if we need to be tested prior to leaving as a boarding requirement. We’re leaving from Ottawa, On, Canada. Also our entry requirements have changed to allow a rapid antigen test on our last day of our stay, should we test positive, is their an area on the resort for us to stay? Any insight would help.

First, the necessary tests are carried out on visitors, a rapid test and then the pcr, in case of detecting any case of contagion in any of them, they are quarantined in an area with all expenses paid with all the attractions that the visitor needs and the attention is excellent

This is less of a question and more of a statement for those travellers who vape. Vaping devices are being confiscated at Holguin airport. They will not be returned to you. This causes significant delays for you at the airport.
Flew into Varadero in July, no issues. Holguin October, 2021...vape device confiscated.
They are happy to sell you all the cigs and cigars you can smoke....gross :)

As of Oct 23, 2021 the resort is open. Am in premium section currently. Very very quiet here. Apparently reservations for nov 15 and further out are increasing
