The American Discovery Trail (ADT) crosses California from Limantour Beach on Point Reyes to Lake Tahoe going through San Francisco, Oakland and Sacramento on the way, as well as miles of farmland, parks and remote back country. This time I hiked the part of the trail near the coast through fabulous coastal scenery, redwoods, and fog! In the past I've also done some of it near Sacramento. The trail follows a series of other trails joined together to make the ADT with occasional road sections where a trail is not available (very few places). I'll be back to do more of it for sure.
