Dette sted er fantastisk. Tag afsted om morgenen, gerne i klart vejr. Turen op til toppen er hård, og kræver lidt fysik, men det er alle anstrengelser værd. Husk at holde øje med dalene i vindsiden. Her kan du opleve flere ørnearter i termisk flugt. Det er smukke syn. Tag vand og madpakke med, og nyd de 3 km til toppen over 500 højdemeter.

Intermediate trail that is easy to access (a few parking spaces available at base of trail and along paved road piece...these were mostly free when we went around 2pm on a Wednesday). The trail climbs fairly fast and so is somewhat steep in areas. I'm in good shape and didn't find it hard, but parts of the path that are on loose rock at parts and/or fairly narrowcan make it a little tricky to navigate and get your footing, especially when going back down.
I thought it was worth it though, the views, even at the midway point, are beautiful! It's also nice how there are multiple bathroom points (most good looking port-a-potties) off the paved road, which is where you can enter or exit the trails at a few different points.

This is where you want to go if you are a real angelino, not to different from the terrible touristy, new bee: "I live in Hollywood and want to be an actor producer singer writer" Runyon Canyon…..but less people, no tourists, and breathtaking views of downtown, Glendale and the valley, you can even see the ocean on a clear day. Steep, but you can reach the very top of the mountains. Enjoy! Beware of snakes and real producers.

I'm not much of a hiker though I like to think that I am. Yes, I do own a pair of hiking boots that are a few years old (they still look new). A few years back, I gained the freshman "ten" from going back to school and have been trying to lose it ever since. I explored gyms and DVDs to workout. I found out about Wildwood while exploring joining a hiking Meet Up group. I ended up not joining and instead explored the open spaces that the City of Santa Clarita set aside as green space. Right now we are in the middle of SoCal spring (February and March) though officially it's still winter and Wildwood is in it's full green splendor.
Googling it's location, I found the entrance to be at the end of a residential street (Haskell Vista Lane). There is limited parking along the right side and the end of the street although another street winds up the hill to the right. You walk straight off the street and over a metal barrier fence (for horses and foot traffic) and just beyond the trees is a map. The trail starts off to the left and winds up the hill. It is there you will see the depression at the bottom surrounded by trails leading down into it and around it. I've only gone to the bottom once and have yet to explore all the trails since I go there to relax, get a little cardio going, and clear my head. Other than the wildlife, my only caution is speeding mountain bikers and unrestrained dogs leaving their "package" on the trail. Come on, people, clean after your dogs!
