A two hour tour with John on one of the last two mail boats in the USA. The lake is beautiful and you get to see most of it during the working morning (9-11) as John delivers mail to approximately 30 homes. The variety of homes and settings is striking, even to a long time vacationer to Maine. At $20 it’s a bargain.

We just finished a week on the Great Pond in the Belgrade Lakes area. It is less then 3 hours from Boston, 20 minutes off Rt 95. We rented a power boat from a local marina. They were very accommodating and the boat was in good condition. We brought our own kayaks. The lake is not crowded even on the weekends. We felt safe all the time. Our location was 1.5 hours to white water rafting which was great for a day trip. There are no major shopping areas within 20 minutes. We found plenty of hiking trails, fished, relaxed and had a great time. The locals were nice. We will go back.
