If you want a one word review of the Poconos, then that would be AVOID.
As previous reviewers have pointed out, this is not the Poconos of the past.
Mostly vape shops, abandoned buildings, and stores selling worthless trinkets.
I was extremely disappointed with all the over-hype from the internet about the quiet charm of the area.
That does not exist any more in in of the area.
I regret that I wasted the gas to drive to the area, and wish I had my time back from the time wasted by visiting.

Cove Haven is not what it is made out to be. We stayed in the champagne towers, the sauna is right underneath the bed on the floor below, It was hard to sleep in the warm bedroom with the air conditioner not working correctly and made a noise the entire time. All the amenities were in one big room including miniature gulf. We left a day earlier and asked for reimbursement for the remainder of the stay. It was our honeymoon and we were very disappointed.

Horrible and disappointing... Not the Pocono Region of the past. Many abandoned hotels, Graffiti on rocks and surfaces. Very overrated, except for Bushkill Falls. Across from the falls is an unsightly former resort that now looks like a housing project. Sad to see the decline... The culture of clean and friendly is now gone.

I'm way up in this region away from the Poconos Mountain ski area." Big Bear Ski Resort"
The only reason why I'm writing this review which is off topic is because I would like to save all of you thw crappie experience. The true local people here are very nice but because of its proximity to the larger cities like NYC and New Jersey, it's been overtaken predominantly by very rude City tough guy wannabe people. I highly suggest you stay way South.

Amazing weekend getaway. Stayed at Memorytown USA in a beautiful little cabin. Can’t wait to go back!

We really enjoyed the beautiful foliage! Coming from the West coast to the East coast was quite different, but just as lovely. The Pocono Mountains are worth visiting, the hikes are easy, even for kids and families. We plan to return next year too!

I could not find another review on trip advisor about Memorytown USA. It is a little resort that has lodging, trails, ATV riding, horses to ride at some times, chickens and rabbits to see, a cozy restaurant, a nice area for weddings and I am sure many other things that I am not aware of because there is not much advertising for it on trip advisor. The hotel was nice, nothing too fancy, but it allowed my two dogs, so I was very happy. It is a nice place for families to relax and enjoy time together. Definitely worth a visit!

I have been wanting to go to a pumpkin chunk event ever since I realized such a thing existed. We drove to pocono raceway where the event was being held. About an hour and a half ride but not too bad. The gas and rest stop area in Allentown was a good place to stop for an auntie Anne's pretzel on the way. They also have a Starbucks and Roy Rogers there too. If your into fall foliage this is a good ride to take. Most of the trees had already turned color. And the drive to the raceway is a back country winding road. The event was held on the grounds of the raceway next to the parking lot. They had catapults of different sizes man propelled , and mechanical. As soon as I walked up I heard a thwack! And what sounded like an f14 flying overhead. It was an 8 lb pumpkin! This thing was flung with some furious force! I was immediately hooked. How do these things work, could I build one, could we have a team for next year? Very Kool. Not many people there. Very calm atmosphere. Snacks and pumpkin painting for the kids. Also a human size pumpkin chucker that you could load a fire yourself.( a giant sling shot). Not many chain places to eat nearby so we drove ten miles down the road to the tanners ville outlets. I would like to go back to the area and check out some antique shops or outdoor shedding places.

waterparks i have to admit very fun but lifeguard are horrible i say. I was going to a waterslide and next thing you know the life guard came and saw me and HE LEFT> what the heck is up with that tat is so rude!!! My dad awaits i feeling so embaressed proabaly something wrong with me and he says we could go. Like i dont know to we can fall off if were in the wrong position and i was scared. also this ride was a orange one. by the way i love tornado slide and the hotel rooms. very comftorable they clean so good its just that in the night you are always hearing running and loud noises so disturbing. I also hate some staffs are overprotective. And yelling at kids. BUt people are very nice mostly and buffet is delicious altohough expensive
