This gallery is located inside the Library of Congress (next to Supreme Court). It is well worth a visit (no charge). The exhibition is titled "Hope for America: Performers, Politics and Pop Culture."
If you love Bob Hope, you'll love this. If you love history and politics of the 1950's to 1980, you'll love this. The exhibit covers the interaction of politics and comedy with an emphasis on Bob Hope. You can see his notes and political jokes from famous appearances. You can see his golf club. There are great displays of all the President's of the era being lampooned.
Plan on about an hour. It's in Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress.
You can head over after your Capitol Tour by taking the Tunnel to the Library of Congress from the Capitol Visitor's Center.
We were glad we didn't miss this.

If you r a Bob Hope fan ,patriot , history buff, etc. U have to come here. It is in the very ll of the LOC. There are a good amount of items to see pertaining to Mr. Hope including his personal items. It includes his Pres.Medal of freedom.

O Bob Hope Gallery of American Entertainment é uma homenagem ao astro americano na Biblioteca do Congresso. Para acessar é necessário ir pelo Capitólio e o túnel subterrâneo que dá acesso a Biblioteca.

The Bob Hope Gallery of American Entertainment is one of several exhibitions you can see at the Library of Congress. This one is found on the ground floor of the Library of Congress, next to the Gershwin Room.
This is a neat room where you can learn about the legendary comedian, Bob Hope (1903-2003), his comedy career, public service and informal role in U.S. Politics, which spanned many decades.
It is well worth a 10-15 minutes stop prior to making your way to the feature attractions of the Library of Congress, even if you are not familiar with Bob Hope. Then you can make your way up the feature attractions, like the Great Hall and Reading Room.
