The views are beautiful. You can sit here and look for wildlife and watch the waves for hours. Make sure to take a picture by the Western most Point sign which is pretty cool to say you went to.

Watching the boat come and go with out a pier, the eagles on the beach and the fishermen on the river! Great area to explore!

My friend and I spent lots of time, early morning and evening watching the boats come and go. It's amazing to we Oregonians, who have never witnessed it before. The eagles are abundant there and provided lots of photo opportunities. It's close th quaint little town on Ninilchik,and the Russian Orthodox Church, also loves the second hand store in Ninilchik, lovely owners, with lots of historic knowledge.

I live about 25 miles east of this place where the Anchor River flows into Cook Inlet near the town of Anchor Point ( About 14 miles west of Homer, Alaska). The river is popular for fishing as is the Inlet, but it is a pretty place to camp and explore as well. The views of Illiamna across the bay are incredible and jaw dropping year round. Birds are often plentiful and sunsets spectacular.

Located at the most westerly highway point in North America, this campground is popular with tourists, locals, and out of town Alaskans alike. Lots of room, a clear water river, clean, and close to the beach.

Beautiful spot for a sunset. Spectacular view. Quiet & secluded. Camped within walking distance at Kyllonen's RV Park. Abundant wildlife.

This was a return visit, which I was very much looking forward to.
The campground has limited facilities, i.e. just 'long drop' toilets, but they are cleaned regularly and are well maintained, just like the rest of the campground.
I have chosen the Halibut Campground both times, and will again, as there's direct access to the beach and the views are stunning. Bald eagles have been my companions on both visits.
I can't wait until next time!

Very nice park that the whole family would enjoy. We went out on the inlet fishing the day we visited, Great place for the kids to just run!

We had to get our photo taken at the "Most Westerly Highway Point" sign and while there we watched the tractors/skidders drive out at low tide to bring the fishing boats in on their trailers. Just one more thing on our trip that we had never seen before.

Great place to visit if you want to see eagles or fish in the anchor river. We did both spectacular highly recommend seeing this spot.
