This was a cute and fast stop on our drive through Arkansas. Took some pictures, carried on. Always love to swing by quirky little spots in our travels.

I was my first visit to india and i could not the happier with the hotel very clean and quiet lots of delicious dining options the hotel was beutiful the service was execellent and Ankit was very attentive helpfull and did excellent work. Gauravi Negi and Kush Kala were likewise extraordinarily attentive to assure every detail of our stay was exquisitely cared for.

We had a lot of fun at this stop. The town square was well cared for and who doesn’t love Popeye the Sailor-man?? It was a great place to rest and stretch, snap some pictures, and stroll through the little town. There is a gas station right across the way with clean restrooms and snacks. Fun stop.

I drove about 150 miles out of my way to take a picture of the statue. They had placed a mask, which looked more like a large lady's underpants, on Popeys face. A disappointment to me. I didnt see anything cute or attractive with this display.

If you're going through Alma, AR, or close-by, seeing Popeye and his spinach can is worth a stop. We were staying at Fort Lake Smith State Park and took a drive specifically to see Popeye's Garden. Pretty and scenic little park but the highlight was the large bronze statute of Popeye himself, with his can of spinach, of course. We didn't know at the time that Alma is known for spinach and hosts a spinach festival every year. Popeye is the perfect mascot for this town.

This was a great place to take pictures, but going on the spring was best for us. very clean and right down town main street. (you may want to check ahead due to construction downtown) We went in through the back way.

The Popeye fountain is located in a lovely small park across from the Alma police building. I think Popeye relates to the local spinach crops. There is ample street parking and it only takes a few minutes just to appreciate the fountain and murals. The flowers were lovely in late summer when we visited. I wish the town still looked like the one painted in the mural. However, nearby is a new high school that looks more like a small college campus with an adorable Airedale statue in front of the performing arts center.

Following directions, we could not locate the statue. We did finally locate it (it was moved) across from the police department. The park is small but lovely and there is also a mural on the building by the park. To me, it was worth the stop to walk about, see the statue and mural. 10 to 15 minute break!
