Came here with the in-laws while staying nearby. It's definitely more enjoyable as it was less crowded than Pismo Beach. Plenty of room to spend the day!!!

Beautiful area. Pier was closed which was disappointing but the local stores were cool. Typical tourist items which I did not need.
Nice and relaxing with good parking options. If you are early, free street parking was ample. Paid parking also available.

My wife and I regularly come here in the Summer when it gets too hot where we live in Kern County. The beach gets heavy use and many types of people enjoy its charms; the water is quite cold (mid 60s) so I get my feet wet and that’s all. Dogs are allowed of leash before 10 AM and after 5 PM and our well-behaved dog loves the opportunity to frolic around. It’s a beautiful little getaway go to for us.

Beautiful sheltered beach in a very pretty little beach town full of restaurants and relatively easy parking. Fun farmer's market on friday nights, live music, great food, etc. We visited beaches from Santa Barbara to Monterey and this was our favorite.

Pretty beach, good for all ages. Wide deep clean beach. Restaurants with views of the beach. Cute town with other attractions for kids and adults.

Even though it was cold, the sun was shining so we really enjoyed our walks on the beach. We always look forward to anytime we can getaway to Avila Beach!

This is a great safe family beach. The waves never get too big and the shops cater to the tourist. They have hanging hammocks under the pier and clean public bathrooms. Expect year round events (art shows, live music, eat) and the weather is generally nice. Also, a great place for a picnic or barbecue.

This is our favorite beach on the Central Coast. We also love Avila. It is very quaint, clean, and the the Blue Moon is our favorite place to eat.

I thought someone had told me about some hikes that went to some caves on the beach near Avila. Were they talking about the cave at Pirates Cove (that I just saw in a review that it is dirty and right near a nude beach?) or is there another spot?
