Both my boys (10 & 12) have gone to Ajax Adventure Camp for the past 3 years and love it! The camp offers unique activities such as the catching, frying and eating of grasshoppers (!), "Marmot tag" played up in the boulder fields of Independence Pass and paint-ball played above Basalt near Reudi Reservoir. They also offer more traditional activities like fishing, archery and arts & crafts. Other activities like horseback riding and rafting are offered too once a week for an additional fee. The kids choose which activity they would like to do in the morning and afternoon with lunch in-between. Lunch is provided by the camp and is different each day such as pizza, spaghetti or sandwiches... The counselors are responsible, fun and creative. The camp runs all day too which is a great bonus. It's a really fun experience for kids!

My kids have had the great fortune to attend this camp for the past few summers. It is extremely well run. The counselors are very well chosen and are the real key to a successful camp. The activities are always unique. The kids absolutely love it. They come home after camp exhausted, but in a good way. I hear about Ajax all year long from both of them.

What a great camp! We finally found a fantastic adventure camp for both our 9 year old as well as our 13 year old. Every day was different, interesting and stimulating to our boys. The camp staff were tip top energetic young adults who were great role models for our kids. Our boys frequently preferred to head out again for a camp day over any other plans...
We will be back!!

My son has been a camper at Ajax Adventure Camp for 3 years. He has participated in both the week-long overnights and the day camp. The staff are great with the kids and there are plenty of activities to keep them all busy. This year they added a down-valley transportation option which was awesome.

kids ages 8-12; preferable if kids can swim, hike, open to adventure, art, nature; lots of energy and ability to go all day long

I have been a part of Ajax for five years now in both a camper position and a counselor. While I was a camper, I looked forward to summer camp every year and wouldn't miss it for the world. After growing older and becoming a counselor, I not only was able to do the amazing amount of fun activities they offer (like climbing, hiking, rafting...) but I was able to teach the children and lead them just like my counselors did when I was their age. Ajax has been a huge part of my life and I'm so exciting to see more and more kids experiencing what I did.

Both of my children have always had a blast at Ajax Adventure Camp. They have enjoyed doing different activities on the same day and seem to come home with the most amazing stories. THE BEST summer camp in Aspen, CO.

My kids absolutely LOVE Ajax Adventure Camp. Seriously, they've gotten spoiled to any other camps because they love the counselors, activities, food and fun more than any other. There are so many choices each day, and the great staff and program promise there's never a dull moment. Between rafting, paintball, and more, you need to schedule at least 15 days of camp!

We live in Aspen and my kids have enjoyed going to Ajax adventure camp every summer. The camp counselors are very friendly, funny and great with children. There are many wonderful activities to choose from every day. The kids especially loved paintball, marmot tag, rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, rafting and fishing. They came back from camp very tired, dirty and happy. The camp provides lunches, so there is no need to pack anything. My older child also loved the sleepaway camps, where he was able to go rafting, backpacking or hang out on a ranch. This is a very fun day camp--highly recommended.

Ajax Adventure Camp is amazing. I was on staff summer 2016, and will definitely apply again. There is a wide variety of activities, so everyone can have an amazing time! Absolutely loved it!
