Fun afternoon snorkeling

Had a great time snorkeling on the glass bottom boat with our three kids. We ended up being the only people that day and the company worked with us time wise so we could make it back to catch the last ferry back to Caye Caulker where we were staying. The kids loved looking through the glass bottom and the boat driver and tour guide were both so knowledgeable and helpful! I couldn't recommend them enough, especially if you have kids.

The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly . They made us feel welcomed and relaxed . I highly recommend this company if you’re looking for a wonderful experience . We loved swimming with the nurse sharks and rays .

An Excellent Adventure

A well run family company. We had an excellent experience, and would definitely recommend Reef Runner for anyone traveling with young children in San Pedro. The Reef Runner gives an opportunity to children who are too young for snorkeling to see the ocean bottom, including the fish, plants, coral, etc. I can understand the comments about the boat being slow and relatively old. However, the opportunity for the young kids to see the underwater through the glass bottom far outweighs any inconveniences from the boat. The captain and assistants are also excellent and are truly committed to everyone having a good time.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I am happy you enjoyed it. We had the boat up for three weeks doing maintenance work. It has been painted and other minor repairs were done so looking good.

Beautiful ❤️ Snokeling near the barrier with Carlos and his grandson (I wish we got his name).

We booked the glass bottom boat trip so that 2 in our party can stay on the boat(they were too afraid to snorkle) while others could swim with the nurse sharks then travel to another location for snorkeling.

Well, nobody on the tour wanted to get in the water to swim with the nurse sharks except me and Carlos' young grandson. I asked him to go in first so he could show me how to do it right. He graciously said "ok" and jumped in the ocean. I went right after him and it was beautiful! The sharks didn't bother us and I was able to see other fish. We jumped back in the boat and on to another spot where other got in the water. My one friend changed his mind last minute and jumped in too! He was inspired by Carlos'grandson and another little girl that jumped in for the snorkle tour. Carlos was amazing! He told us to hold on the the life saver ring that he was dragging in the ocean, if we got tired. For some reason, it didn't register with us and we held on most of the guided tour. It was Fabulous!

He took us to area where the drop had to be 30 to 50 feet. We absolutely loved it! We want to thank Carlos for taking excellent care of us and dragging us in the ocean the entire time. We only realized later that we should have not hung on the whole time and we are sorry we didn't pay better attention and are grateful for one of the best experiences. And I would like to thank Carlos' grandson too, for teaching me how to swim with the nurse sharks.

I highly recommend this tour for seeing sea turtles 🐢 ,nurse sharks and other beautiful tropical fish.

We will use Reef Runner upon our return next time.

Very fun trip

My adult daughter and I wanted to check out the reef but neither were that excited about snorkeling. We figured a glass bottom boat would let us see fun things without having to deal with snorkeling. Carlos took us out and showed us some cool sites including a ship wreck then took us to Shark Alley where he fed the sharks and other fish (and occasional bird) we decided then to try the snorkeling as our reluctance to do so was more about breathing underwater than anything else. The shark site water was fairly calm and shallow enough that we could enjoy the snorkeling without having to worry about the swimming and breathing part as much. It was great. Then he took us out to the reef and got out a floating ring which he pulled out to the sites. All we had to do was worry about breathing and seeing the cool stuff. For a couple of novice snorkelers it was ideal. We saw a large turtle, lots of fish and coral. It ended up being the best part of our trip. I would highly recommend this company.

Prima tour

Ideaal voor mensen die niet kunnen of willen snorkelen. Hoewel daar ook de gelegenheid voor is. Je gaat naar Hol Chan nature reserve en Shark ray ally. Veel nursesharks, horseeyed jacks en sting rays gezien. Zowel snorkelend alswel door de glazen bodem. Je kunt de haaien bijna aanraken. Erg leuke tour, die ik iedereen kan aanraden. Je wordt bij de pier van je hotel opgehaald en weer terug gebracht.

A fun afternoon

My in-laws aren't really the snorkeling type, so the glass bottom boat was a good way to share a bit of Belize's amazing underwater world with them. My husband and I snorkeled, and we got to swim with tons of nurse sharks, jacks, dory, and a few stingrays at Shark Ray Alley. I didn't snorkel Hol Chan because the current was up, but my husband did and said it wasn't too bad. Hol Chan is definitely worth snorkeling - you don't see much unless you do since obviously the boat can't get too close to the reef.

Wow fantastic half day tour onto low Isle reef..staff aboard the boat very knowledgeable of the area and different reefs and fish species..would recommend this tour and snorkel you see so much more than on the glass bottom boat ..

The Best!

I can't believe I neglected to review this back in 2015. Bad! Reef Runner was so fantastic when we went in October 2015. Captain Manuel was SO great about making sure our snorkels and flippers fit before we went out (the day before so we were all squared away), he took us to Shark Ray Alley first and then to Hol Chan so both were less crowded, and he was genuinely excited to show us all the reef had to offer. We are planning to use Reef Runner again this year when we bring more friends back to San Pedro this summer.

Captain Carlos was awesome! I was the only one out of my family to actually get in the water, but it was absolutely beautiful. I'd recommend everyone go out snorkeling in the channel. I saw an eel, jewelfish, triggerfish, things I've never seen before. If you ask him what something is, he'll be happy to tell you!
