This a a beautiful well run lodge. The staff are so kind, sincerely helpful and they took great care of us. The food was the best! Beautiful location and great fishing guides. We loved it!

The resort, fishing , and food are amazing. The El Pescador Team is friendly and always helpful…each of them know you by name after the first meeting.

Family vacation to San Pedro, Belize. Last minute decision to do a charter after not being successful DIY.
Absolutely phenomenal guide and service from this group. We stayed down towards town and the lodge treated us like guests.
Caught 3/4 for a super slam on fly just missing a tarpon. Permit ate, BIG snook ate, and bonefish ate all day. Caught plenty of other species as well during lulls.
Son was not as proficient with the fly rod so they had him set up with spinning gear. He caught snook, bonefish, jacks, and hooked a massive Cuda.
Lunch was ordered the day before when we made the reservation. Water was ready for us when we needed it.
I highly recommend these guys. The guide went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. Boat was brand new and was very shallow floating.
I’m an avid fisherman and my son is a novice. The guide would get me situated on great fish opportunities then switch to my son’s attention alternating. Never asked for this treatment. The guide was just on point.
I’ll be back soon for another few trips with these guys. Can’t say much about the lodge as I only saw the kitchen and shop area. Grounds were very clean and I’d rate it as a higher end property comparing to a lot. Good luck and tight lines.

The fishing guides for El Pescador are separate from the hotel and they work as independent contractors. Belizian guides can be arrogant and are hard on fishermen, which is fine with me. I have been fishing in Belize for 12 years. Kechu, Emir, and Nestor did a great job for 6 of my employees.
Don't use Kristian. I released him after 2 days of fishing. Thanks to Mariano at El Pescador for providing us a backup guide. Kristian was OK the first day. The second day he was angry and complained most of the day.
Kristian was actually fishing while we were fishing which was not cool. He got angry when I wanted to change fishermen and give my partner a chance to catch Permit. Kristian makes a lot of disrespectful comments and is very immature for a 26 year old with 10 years of experience.
The last straw- he saw a barracuda while we were moving. He stopped the boat and cast at the fish himself. He missed the fish and handed me his rod (which had a broken reel). He then proceeded to yell at me when I missed the same fish he just missed. I told him he was out of line and he just got mad. No apology, was not willing to admit his bad behavior.
Don't use this guy. He acted like he was doing us a big favor rather than providing the service we paid for. He knows where the fish are, but he won't be a great guide until he gets control of his emotions and his mouth.

Fishing with our guide Ketchu was amazing! Russ caught Tarpon, Permit and bonefish fly fishing and I caught a large permit with a spinning rod. We fished three days and had a fabulous time!

Okay, a day trip was $$$ but my boyfriend was very excited to fish in Belize. I wanted to fish as well but apparently since I am a woman I was to just sit. The guide was an older guy and we spent 6 hours hearing all about him and never asked one question about us. He also was a butt head: constantly yelling orders in a berating tone then adding a fake chuckle to try to soften it. The BF is the nicest guy in the world and didn’t get pissed off for a few hours. The guy acted like it was HIS fishing trip and my BF was there to … idk be his little worker. So: rudeness, expensive and belittled. There is also no cover so the sun beating down the whole time. Did not stay at the resort. It looked lovely.

I absolutely LOVE this place. My 5 year old daughter had a blast. It's perfect! It's small enough where kids can run around and have fun and you can easily see them. The water is perfect for shell and hermit crab hunting. The good is AMAZING. The resort is small and personal and I loved that. My husband fished and I stayed with my daughter. I was worried it was going to be too much of a fishing resort and we'd be out of place. That wasn't the case at all. There's not many places I'd like to return to. I will be returning here sometime!! Fantastic!!! You won't be disappointed.

The Orvis fishing school was excellent. Hutch and John were great instructors who helped me to extend my cast. What an amazing staff who provided anything asked for. Food was very good cooked by local ladies. A very enjoyable experience!

This is my favorite fishing destination. the guides are terrific, knowledgeable, friendly, fun.
