Very nice place, with great pools and different activities. Food could be better, but it's not a core of your visit there. Coffee served could be significantly better. However, swimming pools, showers and natural self-guided trails are really well organized. Highly recommend for the weekend with kids.

Bacab came recommended to us by the owner of a VRBO that we stayed in. We went one day for a late lunch. It was our lucky day as the manager was on site. We wanted to return another day to experience more of this park. She told us which day was least busy that week, and that’s the day we went. We took a river kayak tour...the two young guides were excellent...He even pointed out a tiny hummingbird nest. Later when we were back, one of them came to find us to show us the monkeys in the trees and also a bit later, the crocodile who was sunning himself. We ate a yummy lunch by the pool and enjoyed the pool all afternoon. The cement slide is super fast and fun. There is a nature path there...informative and well marked. This is a beautiful place, operated by hard working belezians.

My 5 year old and I spend the day at Bacab during our 14 days cruise with AIDA.
We just wanted to relax and have a quiet day by the pool so this was the perfect choice.
My daughter spent the entire time in the pool (most of the time there were only 3-5 people in the entire huge pool), she loved the water slide.
The pool is perfectly clean, the water has the perfect temperature to cool you down if you have done other activities before like the hiking or horse riding.
There are mosquitos, yes, but not really around the pool. We had been warned about them beforehand and brought bug spray so we were ok.
Our excursion included lunch which was excellent.
We'll definitely come back when if in Belize again.

My wife and I took a Carnival cruise excursion to the Bacab Eco Park. It was a bicycle ride though the jungle. Our guides (Lourdes and Cruise) were very nice and informative and we had a good time. The things we didn't expect were:
o) the bicycles were cruiser style (wide handlebars with only one speed) as opposed to mountain bike that would have made navigating the narrow and windy path much easier.
o) mosquitoes - they are everywhere and persistent - bring bug repellent!
o) heat - it was very hot.
o) down time - after the bike ride the time at the pool seemed too long. It would have been nice to catch a ride back to the port sooner.

Sorry about the mosquitoes, they are seasonal and when active, they are everywhere in Belize. Do not know what might have happened that day as we do fog for mosquitoes whenever necessary. Again, sorry about the mosquitoes and thanks for choosing Bacab Eco Park.

This was a good excursion on our cruise. Our guide was very knowledgeable and have great information about the area. There were a lot of mosquitos!! And they charged $1.00 to use the repellant. Overall it was a good experience!

This was one of the more relaxing days during our trip to Belize. We took a leisurely horse back ride through the jungle and were lucky enough to spot some toucans and monkeys! We than hit up the restaurant to grab some burgers and beer and than hung out by the pool. There was even a small cement water slide that we crushed!
ADVICE: They don't have a taxi/shuttle service so plan your return trip prior to being dropped off.

Our family has two teens and one that uses a walker. The trails were flat and easy to use even with the walker.
Robert was a great host. He told us stories and let us taste some native tree nuts. He even played snake wrangler, removing a snake from the pool.
Food and drinks were reasonably priced.
There was a medicinal trail. We were able to add bikes after we got there. We really enjoyed the bike ride. The cove with kayaks looks a bit sketchy made me think of snakes and crocodiles, so I wouldn’t pick that.
The pool area was really nice. Next time we’ll ride horses.
We will definitely go back.

We signed up for this Excursion on our Cruise (Carnaval Breeze). Upon arriving, we were taken to the bus with BACAB. The tour guide Darian was great. Shanna his assistant was great and Marcus our driver did a wonderful job.
The park itself is beautiful. It was a wonderful day. Lunch was delicious and server Patrice was attentive. I'd recommend this to anyone!!! Well worth the money.

We selected this excursion because we wanted a little more than hanging on a beach watching all the drunks. I can do that in Wisconsin.
We were placed on a bus with an extremely knowledgeable guide, Paula, who described her city and country with passion.
We choose to ride horses through the Eco Park. I was nervous about this part of the trip because I had only ridden once at age 12...I'm now 73. Our guide ,Fred, picked the right horse for me, good ol' Brownie. Gentle does even describe this horse. She was obedient to the rein, and glided through the jungle. There were 6 clients and 3 guides, who described every part of the way and answered so many questions. Even got to eat termites. We only got bit by mosquitoes once because we applicated repellent (hint, hint).
After a free Belizean light lunch we then made our way to a pools so serene, it just washed away our tension.
The 40 minute trip back to the ship was again narrated by the informed Paula.
Do this trip.

We are interested in booking an excursion with princess that includes a horse back ride but there are a few in our group that might not want to do the ride. Could they come on the excursion and just not do the ride and go to the pool instead, while others went on the ride ?

That tour called "Escape to Bacab" is sold on other cruise lines but not on Princess, however when at the Port ask for our Tour Manger, Lizette, and maybe she and Princess ShoreX can assist you at that time.

We have booked this excursion for next week! Do you have to wear closed toe shoes on the horseback ride or are sandals with straps ok? Thank you very much.

Closed toe shoes are preferring but once your sandals have a strap to secure them on you should be fine.

Does the tour provided by Shore Excursions Group include anything other than the walking trail with guide, lunch, and swimming in the pool? I see you have other activities like kayaking, horseback riding, etc.

Hi, if your ship does not sell our tours (horse, kayak or bike tour) on board, you can purchase them when at the Park. Best to let us know in advance.

Will be in Belize Thuraday, Jan 26th 2017 on the Carnival Dream. I noriced Bacab Eco Park is not showing as an excursion on Carnival's website. Is the park closed at this time?

How long is the bike ride in terms of distance, time and difficulty. My wife has concerns since it's been a long time since she has been on a bike.

Distance is approx 2 miles. Difficulty is moderate. Time is approx one hour. The ride is in the jungle on compacted material and sometimes bare earth. Ride is not on concrete or asphalt pavement.
