We booked through the Eco tours at the port instead of our Carnival cruise. We did the Goff's Caye snorkel excursion. There were several guys and I don't remember all their names but they were all WONDERFUL and helpful! We went Dec.12th and the weather was perfect! The island itself was breathtaking! I didn't want to leave! If you didn't do the snorkel you could rent chairs and just hang on the beach all day. They have wonderful food and rum punch on the boat. We will definitely go back and go directly to Belize so we can explore and stay longer. The tour group is highly recommended. The price is very reasonable and the people are great!

We got off our cruise line with no idea what we wanted to do, asked they custom lady after getting off water shuttle she told us Ecological Excursion. Told us the company colored shirt to look for so we got them. Found one and he took us to Felica, Felica booked us, explained what we were doing and what was included.
It was an awesome amazing day.
Antonia and James and the rest of the crew. We took a 30 minute boat ride through the beautiful clear water to a small Island. Beautiful... Goff's Caye.
Upon getting to dock, Felica pointed out sting rays swimming around dock.
Antonia instructed us with snorkeling and pointed out points of island.
We received our gear and was given time to explore then then off we went.
It was amazing. Seen puffer fish, sting rays and lots of other colorful fish.
After snorkeling we got to chill on island, and all the rum punch you could drink.
They have a small amazing restaurant that fixes food right there while your waiting. It was cheap and amazing food. 3 Lobster tails, rice and beans, fries an cole slaw and a beverage $12.00. They had a lot of other things on menu but that was the best.
James told us about the island and how it came about and operates.
Took our pictures, explained cong shells.
Over all the best stop of our cruise.
I high recommend them.
If your in Belize please stop see Felica, Antonia and James and rest. You can't go wrong.

Our family have the best time. It’s a small island but beautiful and the snorkeling is amazing . Snacks and drinks available. They offered a lobster lunch that is very reasonable.

The visit to Goff's Caye was great. Would do this excursion again. We opted for the Caye + Snorkel. The + snorkel gets you back onto the boat, and taken out farther to the reef. You can snorkel from shore for free, but would not get the same view.
The excursion goes like this:
1 meet in terminal 4, check in, etc
2 go get on boat, for 20-30 minute ride to caye
3 Go claim real estate on the Caye. YES THEY DO HAVE CHAIRS, and they are free
4 if NOT doing snorkel, Chill on beach for about 2.5 hours, then jump to number 11
5 Potentially use restroom, order food, etc (but do not eat yet)
6 About 15 minutes later, they will call for snorkelers to get back onto boat
7 Snorkel off boat for about 45 minutes
8 return to Caye
9 Get food from vendor if you ordered it earlier
10 Sit chill on beach for about an hour
11 Get back on boat to return to port
Good:
-Boat ride to caye - fast, efficient, and not a loud boat motor. Great ride
-Caye - Wonderful. Absolutely feel like you are on some deserted island
-Rum Punch - probably the best rum punch I have ever had.
-Value - Bought through Island Marketing, it was cheap!
-Food - we did not have any, but some others around us did, and said it was great. Note that food is not included, but is for sale on the island, and is priced very well, much cheaper than typical beach shacks, and this is not your typical beach!
- Snorkeling - Beautiful reefs, lots of fish
Bad:
- Getting started - Our ship arrived at 6am. Excursion did not start until 9:30am. Even considering the 1/2 hour to tender to the port, this is way too late. Had they started at 7:30, we would have had 2 more hours on the Caye (and would have bought food in this case). No reason to sit around like this. We were only ship in port.
- Snorkeling - They had a requirement to use a life jacket. What???? We could tie it to our wrist, which I did, but this makes swimming awkward, and diving down impossible. Note, this is not the inflatable vest, but a full on orange life preserver. This requirement needs to go away.
Not their fault:
- People not snorkeling properly - One teen apparently had never had fins on before, so was swimming as fast as he could in seemingly random pattern. This is snorkeling, not a race, and you are scaring the fish and running into people! Plus one middle age guy who was clueless and also kept running into people. And one guest had a panic attack (so it was good he had life jacket), that guide had to help, and get back to boat, etc. Seriously people, make your first snorkel a beach snorkel, in calm water, not an open water snorkel in 10 -15 foot water. Again, these three were not the companies fault, but ugh, I have snorkeled many many times, and never had 3 like this! An occasional bump, when trying to see a particular fish/crab/lobster/etc, but not over and over and over!
I knocked the star off for the 2 bad items, not for the "not their fault".

Really enjoyed this excursion. We were in a smaller group and the island was not crowded. Our tour guides were a lot of fun Gilbert, Jamal, Bailey, the Captain. I can't remember all of their names, but all were great. The snorkeling was fun, the island was beautiful. Not a lot of people when we were there. The food - so good! You have to get the 3 fresh lobster tails for $10 - more than worth it. The only con was the amount of time, really would have liked more time there.

My wife set up an excursion to the caye and it was very nice. The staff was very nice and Clive did a great job with our dive group. I would do this again.

We went to Goffs Caye as an cruise excursion. We got on a boat and took a 30 minute ride out to this beautiful island. Words honestly cannot describe how beautiful the water was. Once we arrived on the island everyone got off the boat and they told us if u were snorkeling you had 5ish minutes to be back on the boat. We rented some beach chairs since my dad wasn’t going snorkeling and put all our stuff down and then headed back to the boat. The staff was extremely helpful and kind in assisting us with snorkeling. The snorkeling was very beautiful and an unforgettable experience with amazing guides. We snorkeled for around 45 minutes and then got back on the boat and was taken back to the island to relax and swim. The free rum punch was a bit strong for me. There was food for sale at what seemed to be a reasonable price but we passed and waited to eat when we got back on our cruise. But what I hear from other people was that it was really good. Around 1:30 we all got back on the boat and headed back to the cruise port. This allowed for time to shop before you had to get a tinder back to the cruise ship so that was awesome! Overall it was an amazing day on a beautiful island with some amazing staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone as a cruise excursion, whether they want to snorkel or not it’s a wonderful option for an excursion in Belize!

What a wonderful excursion! A 15 min boat ride took us over to a little island called Goff’s Caye. The water was the prettiest I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been on quite a few cruises and to other Caribbean destinations. The guides were very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. Shout out to Josh—-what a great personality, and a lot of knowledge about Belize. The snorkel was fun and the guides were safety conscious and informative. Beautiful coral reef to snorkel over. Then the beach was relaxing, the water was perfect and stingrays swam right by us! There is also food and drink to purchase and free rum punch. The grilled lobster was delicious. On top of all this, Belize is a gorgeous country. I will be back!

We traveled to Belize on the Carnival Cruise and used the website shoreexcursion.com to book the excursion. I can not say enough good things about this experience. The people are extremely friendly and very appreciative of us joining them for the day. When we got to the island, we separated into two groups, snorkelers and non-snorkelers. 6 of us went back on the boat and 3 stayed behind. The 6 of us that snorkeled had a great time. We saw all sorts of different fish, an eel, and our guide even swam down and got us a conch shell. When we returned back to the island we grabbed some lunch. The only thing negative I can say about the trip is that they ran out of some of the food. We were still able to get chicken and lobster for $10 a plate. A mixed rum drink or just coke or Fanta was included in that price. Also, rum punch was served for free the whole trip. One of the teenagers with us even found a coconut on the island and a worker cut it up for us!!
The food was yummy, the conversations with ALL the workers on the island were great, the view was gorgeous...I highly recommend choosing Goff’s Caye!!

The Caye was absolutely gorgeous. Wasnt super crowded and very family friendly. The food they offer is delicious!!! I was slightly concerned booking the excursion off the ship but the staff put my mind at ease and assured me we wouldn't miss our ship. Overall a great experience!

Is there any way to get to Goff Caye without an excursion? I have a morning excursion that will be back at the port by 12:30pm so I am looking for a way to get to a close caye for a few hours to be back at the port by 4pm.

I have mobility issues (walk slowly with a cane, trouble climbing ladders). But I love to snorkel! Will I be able to get on/off the boat?

The boat has steps down to get in and out. I'm sure someone would assist you with that. The caye itself is all sand, but that is to be expected.
Any place for shade? Are there beach umbrellas for rental?

As far as I can remember there were no umbrellas or shade. There are beach chairs for rent but they did not have umbrellas.

I have a group cruising on Norwegian Getaway. We dock at Harvest Caye. Is this exclusive to Carnival cruise ships? How would we get to the Island if not and how are they on getting us back on time?

It is not exclusive. We booked it on shore in Belize City with the tour group. If you are in Harvest Caye, you would need to get a ferry to Belize City to make it happen. As far as getting you back on time, it all depends on the time it takes to get to and from Harvest Caye. I am not aware of them doing it straight from Harvest Caye. You may contact them by email to see if the trip can be arranged. I believe the group was EcoTours.

We left right away after our ship docked. We were supposed to start at 10 but the water taxi was not ready for us so we didn't get there until 10:30 and they waited for us!
