Our guide, Hilario, suggested a day to visit when it would not be crowded by cruise ship visitors. There were 5 adults in our group. We met Hilario at the Teaky Hut restaurant, on Franks Eddy Road, about a half mile off the George Price Highway. There we had a great, leisurely lunch.
Then we were outfitted with gear and took a wonderful hike up into the rainforest. Hilario showed us the flora & fauna of this section of Belize rainforest. Then we hiked down into the river, where Hilario guided us into another world ~ huge caverns with wild formations of rock & stalactites. The Caves Branch River was slow and peaceful as we gently bobbed into and out of several huge caverns. We could hear the waterfall before we reached it - luckily it was coming down into the river, so we were gently splashed by its cool water.
When we emerged from the third (4th?) cave it was late afternoon, and we came out into the cloud forest, with toucans and other birds calling and flying all around us. The trip was totally invigorating ~ ~ and totally relaxing.
In the past I have used other guides for this trip, and I must say that Hilario and his Kinich Ahau Cave Tubung Tours was the best and most informative. Next time we have European visitors we will bring them again to this guide. Very professional but low-key, relaxed, and educational.

Hilario is the best! I never felt hustled or pressured in any manner. Hilario has been doing this for 15 years and knows so much. My lady and 2 friends went with him to the Xunantunich ruins for the first part of the day. His presence was warm and informative and anything we had questions for he had answers. This is in strike contrast to many guides in the area. The amount of knowledge that was shared was worth the price alone. He was always ready with a quick joke that disarmed us all and helped to enjoy the trip even more.
The second half of the day was spent cave tubing near his home town. I felt that there was a real connection he held with the area and it showed. The trip was great, but a good guide made it a lot better. I was left feeing grateful for the encounter with a genuinely good person that provided depth to my experience, it was priceless.

A group of 21 of us just finished a mission trip in Cayo, and we were booked for the zip lining and cave tubing. What a great experience it was. The owner Hilario and the people that are working there are simply amazing, so knowledgeable, and so kind. This is our second time this year doing it with them, and I would highly recommend them. By the way, make sure to eat at their restaurant. Great food as well! VERY WELL ORGANIZED!! highly recommend them!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our time during cave tubing and zip lining with Hilario and Kinich Ahau Tours! Hilario was a great communicator before our visit, and was our personal VIP and picked us up from our resort and spent the whole day with us while cave tubing and zip lining! Hilario comes from the Mayan culture and shared so many interesting cultural facts throughout the day - which included pointing out plant and animal species while we walked through the jungle together and also shared stories about Mayan rituals.
This was a great experience -- I'd highly recommend them!

We booked a cave tubing adventure and Xunantunich sightseeing tour with Hilario in advance of our trip go Belize. Hilario was knowledgeable, attentive and super easy to establish plans with. He taught us all about the history of Belize and the Mayan culture during our adventures. We all had a great time- including the kids and adults. I definitely recommend booking directly with Kinich Ahau for all of your Cayo area adventures.

We had a fantastic experience with Kinich Ahau tours! Hilario, the owner and manager, was extremely considerate of our every need. We felt like VIP's! He arranged for a driver to pick us up in Dangriga and transport us to the cave tubing, which was amazing. We then took a trip to see the Mayan ruins (Xunantunich) and had our own private guide, who was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much fascinating information about the Mayans. We will definitely go back to this company for further adventures next time we visit Belize!

I recommend this tour for all sorts of reasons. First, it's just great fun. But the owner, Hilario, is also a Mayan musician of some renown and he was so informative about his culture. He played his music, showed us plants, and talked about his family. He was more than accommodating about our schedule and even gave us a longer tour because they weren't busy. Cave tubing is a must in Belize. Be sure to choose the best!

Was one of the highlights of our trip. We did not use a tour company but rather arranged a tour guide at the gate entrance. The guide was very personable and he never rushed us!

Kinich Ahau Cave Tubing Tours was a lot of fun! Our guide Doni is what made it so much fun. He made it exciting, interesting and was filled with so much knowledge about the history of the caves and everything that makes up the cave systems. We had a wonderful time! I would highly recommend it to anyone. Very relaxing and enjoyable!

Since I started the contact with Hilario by email, the communication was excellent and all doubts were answered. We initially booked the tour leaving from Belmopan bus station, but in the night before we could get a taxi for a good price and They we fast to rearrange our tour start time and cancel the pick up! excellent service!
We got you taxi up to the meeting point in the highway entrance were a person was waiting for us, we paid the US$40,00 each (we were 3 adults) and drove to the location
If you want a pick up they can arrange it, for example from Belmopan would be US$10,00 per person... but they can pick from other location, just inquire
Arriving at the location aroung 13:00 it was busy, a lot of people from cruise ships, since we were travelling with babies (that cant go) we had to split the group, I went alone and after the guide went again with my wife and friend... The guide was only for us, so we had a VIP treatment. the other people were tied to each others in groups of 8 to 10... (tubes must be tied one to other during the ride)
About the ride: IT IS AMAZING!!!!! this was the top tour of our 10 days in Belize, the cave is so beautiful... and the water was very calm when we did it, the guide had to swim to make us move faster.
So 1st you walk around 40min to the river cave entrance, get into the tube and ride for about 1 hour (depends on the river flow, when water is high he told me that could take around 30min) and it ends on the back of the entrance were you leave.
You guide was amazing, I cant remember his name now...
I totally recommend using this company
